InterWiki links are a quick and easy way to link to pages on other wikis without having to rely on long or cryptic URLs. To create an InterWiki link, simply use the InterWiki name of the foreign wiki followed by a colon (:) and the name of the page on that wiki. The authoritative list of valid InterWiki names can always be found at InterWikiMap; changes to the list of InterWiki names occur from edits made there and will automatically propagate to the complete list below (with much better formatting, too!).

For example, WikiPedia:MoinMoin gets rendered as MoinMoin, which links to the article about MoinMoin on English Wikipedia.

One limitation of these links to remain mindful of is, unlike normal internal links, they are not rendered differently when the target page does not exist. Without that useful safeguard, it is important to double-check page names to ensure that you have entered them accurately. (See the InterWiki page on MeatballWiki for additional details.)

MoinMoin marks InterWiki links so that they are accessible to the ColourBlind—and which is also LynxFriendly—by prepending to them this small icon¹ () of two people arranged as an echelon, and assigning a title= attribute to the icon-text pair containing the name of the target wiki. That name will be shown as a tooltip if you hover over any part of the link with your mouse in a graphical browser, informing you of its destination without having to visit it.
