In one fell swoop, Chicago lost one radio station and gained another on Monday.
With the move of the Score's sports-talk programming up the dial - and its expansion to 24-hour service - the CBS station formerly known as WJJD-AM (1160) disappeared after more than 70 years on the air.
As WSCR took over 1160 AM, its previous home at 820 AM became WYPA, a new outlet for the motivational talk format of Personal Achievement Radio. Tony Jacobs, general manager of WYPA, said the station will unveil a local morning show next week to supplement its inspirational tapes.
