The gloves came off Thursday in the battle for the Democratic secretary of the state nomination, with state Rep. Susan Bysiewicz launching a negative TV ad against state Rep. Ellen Scalettar.
Bysiewicz, of Middletown, who is running a primary challenge, claimed Scalettar missed nearly 200 votes in the General Assembly, including one on campaign finance reform.
Her ad also states that Scalettar, of Woodbridge, voted this year against the legislature's latest revisions to Connecticut's ''Megan's law,'' which requires the registration of sex offenders after their release from prison and notification of communities of their presence.
