Kim Visnes

builds bridges between people.

I spend my days closing the gap between what people mean and what they hear across customers, teams, and the messy space in between.

About

A career spent listening, translating, & connecting.

Most of my professional life has been customer- and client-centric, and that's where my deep appreciation for human interaction took root. From spoken conversations to written exchanges, I find genuine joy in the countless ways we connect and convey ideas.

For decades I've honed the craft of building bridges between people and businesses. Fostering understanding between customers and companies, and unlocking collaboration inside organizations. The challenge of it is exactly what I thrive on.

This stopped being a job a long time ago. It's a calling. I feel real purpose when I help close gaps and enable the kind of interactions that move things forward. The impact of communication when done well is impossible to overstate.

Why effective communication is a business multiplier

It doesn't show up as a line in the budget. It shows up in every line of the budget. What twenty-five years across retail, media and union work taught me about the cheapest advantage a business has.

The art of being understood

Being heard and being understood are not the same thing, and the gap between them is where most of the damage happens. The responsibility for closing it is mine, not the listener's.

Building bridges, not walls, inside teams

Trust isn't a by-product of culture. It's built or spent in small moments, most of which look too minor to matter at the time.

What a union taught me about negotiation

Representing three hundred colleagues changed how I think about leverage. You can't win a negotiation you have to repeat every week for four years.
