  • 🏘️ The UK commercial real estate market is the most active in Europe, with transactions exceeding £60bn in 2025. The market is well suited to deploying international capital at scale, and the case for investment is now driven by stable, long term rental income than by short term gains from rising asset values. The UK is increasingly focused on larger, infrastructure linked schemes including brownfield regeneration, housing led masterplans, and designated ‘grey belt’ sites, which offer greater predictability than smaller, standalone developments, particularly where investors underwrite phased delivery and align with infrastructure timelines. Key opportunities exist in sectors such as logistics, retail warehousing and healthcare, where investors can access long leases, institutional grade covenants and opportunities to deploy large amounts of capital efficiently. 👉 The Office for Investment is attending UKREiiF, visit us at the Investor Hub (13 Pavillion Square, Red Zone) to discover more.

Once again, the UK has topped Europe as the leading destination for financial and professional services (FPS) foreign direct investment (FDI). Our annual analysis of FPS FDI into the UK shows that despite global economic challenges, the UK's FPS sector has demonstrated strong resilience. Key findings: 📈 FDI leader in FPS: the UK is top in Europe, attracting £1.7bn in 2025. 💻 Tech investment is key: the UK is Europe’s leading tech and fintech hub, home to more than 3,500 fintech firms and 1.4 million tech jobs. 🏙️ FPS FDI contributes to the wider UK economy: 53% of all jobs created by foreign investment were outside London. FDI remains a cornerstone of the Government’s objective to drive economic growth and jobs. FPS investment goes on to drive further investment, jobs and prosperity across the whole of the country. We're deepening relationships with priority investors and reinforcing the UK's position as a stable, trusted destination for long-term capital. That's what my trip last week was all about. From signalling the UK's strong support for Malaysian capital in Kuala Lumpur to promoting the UK's long-term, stable, and regulatory environment with Singaporean institutional investors, I was able to showcase the UK's strengths in these key markets. And in Australia I welcomed the establishment of the dedicated 'Supers Unit', the first tangible outcome of the UK-Australia Investment Partnership MoU, to provide streamlined backing for superfunds through policy and project support.

What better way to kick off 🇺🇸 Greater Together LA 🇬🇧 than with a live, immersive Premier League screening in Los Angeles? ⚽️ As the largest ever UK trade mission to the US gets underway, we joined American fans at Cosm to celebrate the explosive growth of English football across the Atlantic. The Premier League is the UK's single biggest exporter of audio-visual rights, worth around £2 billion annually. PL USA Managing Director, Akash Jain notes that UK sport stands out globally because of its passionate fans and its reputation for being the most competitive and compelling football in the world. Tens of millions of Americans are already obsessed with the game and this number continues to grow, with last month's Manchester City versus Arsenal becoming the most-watched match in US history. This week, an unprecedented mix of UK and US C-Suite leaders, visionary founders and global decision-makers are coming together in Los Angeles to build on a $437 billion trading relationship. With over $1.5 trillion invested in each other's economies, Greater Together LA is all about building unexpected connections to drive mutual prosperity and show that the USA and the UK are greater than the sum of our parts. See how the Premier League is capturing the US market and setting the stage for a week of transatlantic collaboration👇 #GreaterTogether British Consulate-General Los Angeles British Embassy Washington GREAT Trade and Investment Paul Rennie, OBEKate Taylor Tett
