I'm so thankful for your leadership, your support of others, and the actions you drive every day to create a collaborative and inclusive environment. ☁Tom Ellis shared this🔄 Catching up after a few weeks. I had the opportunity to speak at AI Rush London on "The Rise of AI Agents" 🚀. It was great to hear and share insights and discuss how as GenAI use-cases have moved to production, we're seeing the conversation move from "How do I use GenAI? 🤔" to "How can AI agents solve tasks for me? 🤖" with agreement that there is some industry confusion on what Agents are. So... 🧠 What are AI Agents? Autonomous software systems that leverage AI to reason, plan, and complete tasks on behalf of humans or systems. The reasoning and autonomous nature is important. One agent may work together with many other agents to complete tasks on your behalf 🔄. ☁Tom Ellis liked this☁Tom Ellis liked thisA few weeks ago, I left AWS behind after 9+ years and for the first time in my career I had nothing lined up (on purpose!). I needed a forcing function to get me into the next chapter of my career. I was stuck. My plan was to take some time to find a new company that I really believed in and shared their mission. In the meantime I was going to build and publish a game on steam and build some other pet projects. But as if by fate, I got an opportunity to join Rimbal quickly after I left. I'm very excited about both the mission and the vision and that's just something I couldn't turn down. I look forward to sharing more of this soon. Starting today, I've been promoted to customer. p.s - will still publish the game, might just take a bit longer

I mean, AWS Training & Certification have seen it fit to discontinue this exam, and I have gone ahead and done it anyway while I still could. It was great to get the perspective of Yiannis Maos MBE on how Amazon Web Services (AWS) can support his latest venture, Unloq, while building our presence in the region and supporting and enabling both the thriving Midlands business / start-up community and its diverse talent base. Building on that conversation, I convened a group of Amazonians to discuss how we bring the AWS Regional Strategy to life across our four key pillars of People, Customers, Partners and Community. Some fantastic ideas were generated and I'm looking forward to refining and executing them in the coming months. It was also great to catch up with Andy Hague and Tracey Davenport at TechWM and the West Midlands Growth Company, who have been such supportive partners on this journey so far. A busy day concluded with a Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce US trade & cultural delegation event. So much going on in the city! A huge thanks to Lauren Allen-Musgrave, Lissa Earnshaw, Moe Ali MRICS, and the entire Bruntwood SciTech team for being such wonderful hosts at their fabulous Enterprise Wharf site. As my time draws to a close at AWS after 8 and a half years, I think about the journey and how much fun I've had working with staff and customers. It has been fantastic to work with so many talented and valued people in AWS, but to thank them all would become a drony old Oscars speech. So I won't do that. (You know who you are. You are amazing! Keep on doing what you do.) For me, it is going to be a few months of getting out there, spending time on myself, traveling, challenging myself to find out what makes me tick, as I lost that a bit in the constant hustle of Amazon, and getting the best out of others. For my team and those with whom I have worked with, my door is always open. Happy to chat about where you are and where you want to be. Or just chat about what's up over a beer. (DM me if you need a pep talk;) Something new could be happening in September... Oh, and there is the garden to do!! (If you know, you know ;)
