🚀 Last weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to evaluate Final Year Project (FYP) ideas at COMSATS University Islamabad - and wow, I was blown away! 💡 15 projects. Every single one was AI-heavy. The future is truly here, and it’s inspiring to see students thinking this big. It also took me back to my own university days, when the ideas were much simpler. This new generation is dreaming bigger - and it’s amazing to witness. I tried to be more of a mentor instead of an evaluator, sharing an industry perspective on turning these ideas into reality. ✨ My core advice to students: Dream big, but build smart. Here’s what I suggested: 1️⃣ Prove Technical Feasibility First – Make sure your idea is buildable, not just a paper concept. 2️⃣ Start with an MVP – Break your project into milestones and aim for a simple, core-functional version first. 3️⃣ Iterate & Enhance – Once the MVP is strong, add supporting features step by step. An idea is only as strong as its execution. ‼️‼️This is the biggest red alert in tech industry. Specially in Pakistan. 🇵🇰 Also this post is going to offend a lot of people, so please read it at your own risk. In the last 1 year, i have met countless non-tech “CEOs” who had great ideas, but needed someone to build it for them. But no, unlike how it should be done, they don’t want to pay you. They want to use your services to do the hard part so they can sit on their CEO seat claiming they built the “world’s best AI tool”. In return, they will give you equity. Of what, a product that literally exists because of me? Now i had the audacity to say no, because i’m earning enough to not be a part of your little joke, but i can’t help but think of all the tech enthusiasts that are being sold a dream that doesn’t exist… at least not right now. My dear developers, the world needs you. Stop letting people tell you that anyone can build a website, AI can replace you, softwares can be built overnight. You have no idea how much your skills and processes are valued at a global scale. Stop selling yourself short. Stop sitting in the backend while someone else is writing stories. All you need to learn is to market a product that you made yourself. You won’t do it perfectly, but you’ll do just fine. And for all these non tech founders, if i can build it, i can market it. Either learn tech, be part of the development journey, or pay the developers what they deserve. Else, stop calling yourself CEOs and Founders.
