Adults using AI for content, comments, emails, Dms: Efficient. Makes them smarter. Anyone who doesn't use it is falling behind. Someone explain this to me. Because every time I push back I hear the same thing. AI is just a tool. Like a hammer or a calculator. Like something neutral that sits there until a professional picks it up. A hammer doesn't make you worse at thinking. A calculator doesn't replace the part of your brain you were supposed to use. But AI does. And that's why I think it's more like a drug. The more you use it the more you need it. The more you need it the less you actually have left. I don't understand why we apply different rules to kids and adults when the drug is the same.

Jack Atkins reposted thisJack Atkins reposted thislet's get the facts right about the feature-ai-movie that premiered at cannes! sure, you have seen all the noise about 'hell grind', the revolutionary step in gen ai feature films. but did you know its all bollocks? with this in mind, let's break down what actually happened... - firstly, it did not premiere at cannes. it was screened on a boat at a private rental harbour. - 15 people masterfully worked on it for 14 days. wasting the same electricity as roughly 55 full usa households being powered for 1.2ys & wasted the same amount of water as roughly 6,600 baths. before anyone makes a moronic-fire against the 'traditional' film industry, the average indie film with the same budget (500k$) would use about 100x less electric and 750x less water. - the 95 min run time was broken down into a handful of 12-16min shorts as the consistency wasn't possible. each 15s shot took on average 3,300 words to create. - the ceo of Higgsfield AI is having to backtrack on most claims as they are being legally threatened by the wsj & cannes for misleading audiences and piggybacking off the festival when there is absolutely no connection. - the movie's legacy has been crowned by the av club as "the 95-minute farting-demon movie generated by ai". anyone still thinking gen ai is the future of cinema. please see this last nail, as it's definitely fucking dead. the fact people are needing to use nft-style mind games to land any headlines should say everything. protect the arts and take the piss out of 'ai film-makers', they deserve it. #higgsfield #cannes #hellgrind #filmindustry

Jack Atkins reposted thisHonoured to see our LOVE CORN “Gird Your Loins” recreation recognised alongside some major household names..! It really shows how entertainment-first, comedy-led content is outperforming more traditional marketing right now. We saw it ourselves with our Love Actually recreation in December amassing 3M+ views, and now the rise in brands recreating iconic movie scenes like The Devil Wears Prada proves audiences want content that entertains first. Of course, the key is making it your own. In our case: full LOVE CORN merch, foam corn hats, and drip-feeding our product subtly into shots. Big shoutout to Jack Atkins for sliding into those red heels without question… (although I didn’t exactly give him much choice!) In case you missed either recreation, I’ve attached both videos below. LOVE CORN Actually: https://lnkd.in/evu6hhz4 The Devil Wears Corn: https://lnkd.in/eaDwHppTJack Atkins reposted this👠 This Week’s Employer Spotlight: The Devil Wears Prada Office Takeover “Gird your loins” trends for 5 minutes… and suddenly every office has a Miranda Priestly (some more convincing than others). Naturally, employee teams got involved… and some of these brands understood the brief a little too well (groundbreaking 🤨) Here are 10 of the best Devil Wears Prada office edits we’ve seen 👇 → Auspost kept it simple. A straight POV of ‘miranda is coming’ and they’re all models…every member in the line, no build-up (you either get it or you don’t…and if you don’t, that’s on you). Letting employees carry the content...😉 → Aldi UK brought Miranda into the supermarket. Aisles, attitude, and “everybody wants to be us” energy (honestly, believable).. It puts everyday roles front and centre in a way that sticks! → Dublin Airport turned Miranda into a security announcement. “Liquids stay in. Electronics stay in.” Delivered like a warning, not advice (people might actually listen now, we surely did)… It makes an operational role feel current and watchable 👀 → LOVE CORN went full recreation mode. Office cast, scene setup, proper commitment (someone in that team has been waiting years for this moment).. kudos on the lift scene 🫡 → British Vogue recreated a throwback…made it look like the actual film, slightly unfair advantage, but expected. When the brand fits the trend, it reinforces identity naturally 🤍 → So PR Amsterdam | Brand PR & On + Offline + Social Media Communication turned it into an internal prank… dropping the purse and jackets onto desks (divas).. including the boss (great culture or risky move, probably both). Leadership being part of it says a lot.. → Vestiaire Collective asked, “did we understand the assignment?” (UM yes, and now we’ve all rewatched it).. how did you get everyone to join in? → CastleCourt Shopping Centre had their manager Leona step into Miranda mode (no one questioned it… tells you everything). Senior visibility like this makes the workplace feel more human 👏 → TUI skipped the talking and went straight to the strut (less dialogue, more confidence…efficient) and with that, TUI branding → Asda called itself a global icon (Miranda would’ve approved the tone and THOSE RED BOTTOMS). That confidence usually reflects internal culture too. It’s funny how one film reference turns into a shared brief overnight. These don’t just show who has a social team… they show who’s comfortable jumping on trends, putting employees front and centre, and trusting them to deliver (which not every brand can do 😒) Yes, it’s marketing… but it’s also culture. If your team can turn a film quote into something this watchable, that says more than a career page ever will. 👏 Big shoutout to the teams who heard “gird your loins” and thought: perfect, let’s film this.

Jack Atkins reposted thisJack Atkins reposted thisLinkedIn has become Ai slop. We’re all using Ai to write our posts and it’s really winding me up. It’s ridden, boring and it’s poisoning creativity. If you have something to say, say it. Ai, especially ChatGPT, uses the same layout, scripts and terms when it’s creating your posts. It honestly lowers my opinion on businesses, business leaders and people who I thought were able to construct a sentence. Don’t lose your humanity. Use Ai to do things behind the scenes, but don’t let it dictate your words or create your drivvle.

Jack Atkins reposted thisJack Atkins reposted thisa gen ai retrospective (& goodbye!) in an effort to park my generative-ai-discourse, as i am bored, i wanted to round up my thoughts, in one wholesome post. feel free to share, save and spread this with humans and robots alike. lets crack on… - why won’t generative ai last? gen ai was fundamentally doomed from day one. why? well when you look at it logically, when you look with no noise or emotion, you instantly hit all the hurdles for what or who is this for? lets proposition the idea (a silly idea at that) it will be used as a replacement for entertainment, well sure? but who would pay for it? who would watch it? no one normal will take their family to watch a movie directed by, made by and written by robots. it’s that simple. - how can i be so certain? similarly to nfts - remember those bad boys. everyone who jumped into that ‘industry’ and became overnight experts weren’t previously in the creative sector. similar to those, ‘gen ai film makers’ were never in the film industry. what’s the connection? they are all chasing the money, trend with no care of craft, industry or impact on society. now let me bring logic & reason to this plastic knife fight, from you guessed it, the film industry. so what are the real film folks saying - yeah, those idiots who care about craft, humans and are actually in the film industry? well the ip theft side is annoying (but is being resolved with logic) and work is currently being lost. however it wont stick. mass adoption is already failing and enough will be enough. soon. - why do i make the connection with nfts? similarly to nfts, the metaverse and all the other moronic incentives over the years. when enough money, noise and energy is spent, people will follow. even if its a brief eclipse of stupidity. gen ai is made up of two camps. those who were truly talented artists and initially saw this as the future and when faced with all the glaring society, ethical and real issues decided they are too good for responsibility and they will do a bad thing regardless. then we have camp two (the true grifter) those don’t care and never cared and in an effort to make as much money possible and not miss out on a cash cow put all morals to one side in the benefit of themselves. both bad, just slightly different tasting. - what does the future hold for those who celebrate gen-ai now? look i will be frank - those who celebrate gen ai and are actually in the creative industry. work will dry up, you will become increasingly unemployable and more and more frowned upon as the months pass. i have spoken to multiple triple-a studios and one thing is clear, no one wants to work with gen ai folk. no teams, no studios, no normally run businesses. you like gen ai are doomed. p.s. don’t worry i will keep fighting the robots and keep at them. however i am going to talk a little less - for now, at least. #animation #illustration #genai

"You can't make real art with a camera. It's not a genuine performance if the actor's mistakes just get cut out." We changed our minds about that one. Today, the argument is that AI video isn't a legitimate art form and most people seem to be rallying hard against it. History is repeating itself as it always does. But here's the other thing, there's nothing naturally human about traditional filmmaking workflows either. There just isn't. A director positions two actors, calls action, and they repeat the same lines over and over until the perfect take is extracted. That's not a realistic simulation of real life, it's a curated performance, then made to look natural through a post production edit. We now call that process true art while the AI equivalent is considered lesser than because it apparently removes the human element from storytelling. I don't think it does. I'm certainly yet to find an AI agent that handles an entire film production start to finish without human intervention or direction. I just think history always repeats itself and I have a feeling we're all going to come around on this one.

Stop sending people to your website. If your whole social strategy is “post something → drop a link → hope they click”, you’re wasting most of the attention you manage to get. People don’t want to leave the app they’re already in. They won’t open a new tab. They won’t “read more on your site”. They won’t jump through hoops. TikTok, Instagram and Facebook know this. That’s why they’ve quietly turned themselves into full sales journeys: stay in the feed, see something, tap once, done. Yet I still see videos that only make sense after you’ve clicked through. That’s asking far too much. Parents won’t do it. Customers won’t do it. Most people you care about won’t either. If you want people to act inside the app, your video has to work inside the app. Clear message. Clear offer. Clear next step they can take without going anywhere. We’ve filmed school tours where parents watched a short video on Instagram and booked a visit in one tap — never touching the website. We’ve seen local businesses fill their diaries from a 20-second clip because the call to action sat exactly where the viewer already was, not three clicks away. Same audience. Same service. Completely different outcome. If your content only works once someone reaches your website, you’re playing an old game on a pitch that doesn’t exist anymore. If you want video built for the place where decisions are actually made, that’s what we do every day at Studio 77. You bring the offer — we make it convert where people live.

You pour time and money into your website and ads, but online sales growth stalls. Low visibility means fewer eyes on your offers. Weak engagement kills e-commerce conversion, and poor sales funnels confuse visitors who then head to rivals. Across West and North Yorkshire, businesses lose thousands yearly to this gap. Vague calls-to-action and slow mobile sites make it worse - a cycle that keeps you stuck. The solution? Our step-by-step playbook: build conversion-focused websites with trust signals, power up SEO for qualified traffic, optimise for AI search with GEO, launch branded mobile apps, and streamline with smart forms. We deliver revenue boosting services that integrate these for measurable results. Yorkshire SMEs see real sales funnel improvement and customer acquisition digital wins fast. #ECommerceConversion #SalesFunnelImprovement #RevenueBoostingServices #DigitalAgency #SME

Most content doesn’t fail because it’s bad. It fails because no one understands what the brand actually does. I see this all the time with smart teams, solid products, and decent budgets. (ESPECIALLY SaaS & Tech) The content looks fine. The production is there. The posting is consistent. (For the most part) But if someone can’t answer “what do you do?” within a few seconds of landing on your page, the rest doesn’t really matter. Clarity beats creativity. Every time. You don’t need louder content. You need a sharper message that does one job at a time. If this carousel stings a little, good. It means there’s leverage here. Save it. Share it. Or ignore it and keep wondering why content “isn’t working.”

To add to this point: workshops/courses are certainly an excellent way to expand your craft and network as a voice artist. But I see lots of people seeking them out as a first jump into the world and I don’t think it’s the most valuable investment when you’re just starting out. Spending time with your voice and experimenting with scripts is ✨ FREE ✨ and perhaps the greatest tool at your disposal. 🎙️Being playful and curious about what happens when you change your intonation on X word… ⏰ Playing with speed, register, and mic distance (to create intimacy or energy…) 👏🏼 Truly learning how to execute VARIETY when a producer says “let’s do 3 in a row”… 🔍 Learning to see the obvious read ~ and then training yourself to find the less obvious one… These are qualities that you can develop with free script bank resources, your voice and devoted PRACTICE 🔥 + whilst we’re here…Spending time with casting buzz words! “Conversational”, “warm”, “authoritative”, “COMEDIC”!!! We see them time and time again. Master those reads ~ work out what YOU bring to those reads ~ and you’re laughing. Then, invest in workshops if you feel it will benefit you 🙏 #voiceover #VO #casting #producer #workshops #director

Latest social media news 📰 There's a big shift for businesses using LinkedIn for social media marketing in the UK. LinkedIn has introduced new updates to Events, and this time, the focus is clear: 📊 ROI. You can now: • Promote events at more strategic moments • Target using existing contact and company lists • Optimise event ads for lead generation, not just views This update is about making events measurable. For businesses investing in social media strategy, personal branding, and social media growth, this matters. Events can no longer sit as “nice visibility.” They need to drive enquiries, leads, and conversations. If you’re running webinars, launches, or industry events as part of your social media management or content creation strategy, it’s time to rethink how they connect to your funnel. Visibility is good. Leads are better.

Timing your Reels right can make a huge difference to how far they go 👀 With so much content being uploaded every day on Instagram, those first few hours after posting really matter because early engagement helps your Reel travel further, faster. So when should you post? Mid-mornings during the week (around 9am–12pm) are a safe bet for consistent reach, with strong engagement also happening early morning and in the evening. Mid-week tends to perform best overall, especially Wednesdays and Thursdays. But here’s the thing, the best time isn’t the same for everyone. Your audience’s habits, time zones, and daily routines matter way more than any general study. The smartest move is using your insights, testing different time slots, and finding the windows where your audience shows up and engages, because great content deserves great timing. 💜 Read more to improve your Instagram Reels strategy 👉 https://bit.ly/46u3Hqh

Marketing loses focus when everything is expected to deliver enquiries. Social media is judged on leads. Websites are expected to convert everyone who visits. Campaigns are launched without being clear what problem they’re meant to solve. In reality, different channels support different stages of the journey. Some are there to build awareness. Some to build trust. Some to help people take action. Strategy is what defines those roles, so marketing stops feeling fragmented and starts working together. #marketingstrategy #StrategyFirst #businessgrowth #ThoughtLeadership #digitalmarketingagency #leadgeneration
