It gives us the chance to spend time together in person and celebrate the people who make this company what it is. This year, we introduced the inaugural Human Made Awards ⭐ Nominated by colleagues across the company, the awards recognised the generosity, technical excellence, creativity, leadership, and everyday brilliance that often happens behind the scenes. Congratulations to all our winners: 🏆 Culture Champion: Zoe Hoyle 🏆 Technical Wizardry: Samantha Miller 🏆 Biggest Cheerleader: Vojislav Vlasic 🏆 Client Whisperer: Sarah Jones 🏆 Behind the Scenes: Fatima Rampurawala (FCCA) 🏆 Leadership Impact: Adam Brown 🏆 Creative Spark: Paweł Mikołajek 🏆 Human Made Hero: Jointly, Hannah Terrill & Jenny W. The ceremony took place during our HM birthday celebrations on a boat in Brela, Croatia, and was full of gratitude, emotion, and appreciation for the incredible people we get to work with every day ❤️ We've always believed that people bring the heart to the technology we build. These awards were a chance to celebrate exactly that. Congratulations again to all the nominees and winners 👏

Adam Brown liked thisAdam Brown liked thisBye May! I've had some fabulous Board Meetings this month. Getting face to face with clients is so much fun, quite often I'm not being asked finance specific questions because business is all about people. Experiences, learnings, opinion and challenging ideas. These face to face conversations energise me, give me more understanding of the issues the business owners are actually facing, and what is important to them. It gives me a chance to put my opinions across on the things I think they should be prioritising and most of all it helps to build TRUST! Key Topics of discussion this month: 🟠 AI Tools - The good, the bad and the expensive! 🟠 New Staff Onboarding and challenging processes - sometimes the way something has always been done, isn't the right way! 🟠 Pre-empting Seasonality of Revenue and the importance of Cash Flow and Cost Control - Summer is coming and for a lot of businesses that means a quieter period. 🟠 Holding currency and having Trump making rash decisions isn't a great mix! #FractionalFD #Finance #BoardMeetings #BusinessOwner #Founder #AI #CashFlow

Adam Brown liked thisAdam Brown liked thisI'll be at 𝗪𝗔𝗡-𝗜𝗙𝗥𝗔 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲, and if you're a publisher thinking seriously about what comes next for AI-ready publishing, editorial workflows, content analytics, and the shift toward a more LLM-shaped Web — please come and see us at the 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗩𝗜𝗣 + 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗲.𝗹𝘆 booth 28. A lot of the conversation in publishing right now is moving beyond "what AI tool are you using?" and into 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: 🔹 Is your CMS really built for the next phase? 🔹 Are your workflows helping editors move faster — or slowing them down? 🔹 Do your teams actually have the content intelligence they need? 🔹 Is your stack open, flexible, and ready for MCP / LLM / agentic workflows? That is exactly the conversation we'll be having in Marseille. And yes — 𝘄𝗲'𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱. One of the things I'm looking forward to most is our 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗹𝗱-𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 — where you can have your photo dropped into a classic newspaper-style front page. So if you're coming to WAN-IFRA, please stop by: → Say hello → Pick up some swag → Get your newspaper-style photo → And if useful, 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼 with our team to see what WordPress VIP + Parse.ly is doing around AI-ready publishing, audience intelligence, and the infrastructure publishers need next Would be great to see you there 🙌 #WANIFRA #Publishing #Media #Journalism #DigitalPublishing #AI #WordPressVIP #Parsely #ContentAnalytics #EditorialWorkflows #NewsMedia

Adam Brown liked thisAdam Brown liked thisJoin me on June 5th at 14:40 for my presentation, "Open Source is democratic infrastructure. Support it!" at WordCamp Europe. This is a must-see for anyone who makes money with #WordPress, as we dive into the critical challenge facing our ecosystem. While open source is built in public, improved by many, and transparent, we must acknowledge that "free to download is not free to maintain". I’ll be confronting the myth of the "Weekend Warrior" and discussing developer burnout, the number one systemic threat to our #community. My message is clear: contribution is not charity, it's a strategic investment in our own survival. Don't wait for permission to plant, let's discuss how we can all water one seed today to secure the future of Open Source. I look forward to connecting with everyone at WordCamp Europe in Krakow, Poland. #WCEU

Adam Brown liked thisWell, I don’t want to say ‘I told you so’ but… 2 years ago we identified the risk here - when this can no longer be sustained by burning capital it will be billed at an eye watering rate. And here we are.Adam Brown liked thisSix days ago, we published a piece on State of Brand arguing that every AI subscription is a ticking time bomb for enterprise. The thesis: AI labs are selling compute at a fraction of its cost, companies have built load-bearing workflows on those subsidized prices, and when the correction comes, it will be brutal. We did not expect the fuse to be this short. On May 14, three days after that article went live, both Anthropic and OpenAI made moves that took the repricing from theoretical to actual. Anthropic is splitting its Claude subscription into two pools. Interactive usage stays under existing limits. Automated and agentic usage, the kind generated by coding tools running thousands of requests around the clock, gets pulled out entirely and placed behind a separate credit meter. The all-you-can-eat model didn't survive contact with agentic workloads. Within hours, OpenAI offered enterprise users two free months of Codex if they switched within 30 days, complete with a one-click migration tool. Anthropic countered the same day by boosting Claude Code limits by 50%. A pricing war fought in the open. Each company trying to lock in developers before the IPO window opens later this year. Meanwhile, the spending data coming out of enterprise is sobering. Uber burned through its entire 2026 AI budget by April. Four months. Their CTO told The Information he's "back to the drawing board." ServiceNow hit the same wall. The second major public company to disclose it blew through its full-year AI budget in the first few months of 2026. KPMG data shows U.S. organizations projecting average AI spending of $207 million over the next 12 months. Nearly double what they projected a year ago. And here's the part that didn't make headlines... when Anthropic released Opus 4.7 in April, it kept per-token rates identical. Same numbers on the pricing page. But it shipped with a new tokenizer that generates up to 35% more tokens from the same input. Bills climbed by as much as 27% with no visible price change. That kind of repricing doesn't show up in an announcement. It shows up on the invoice. Both OpenAI and Anthropic are on IPO timelines for the second half of 2026. Public markets will not tolerate the gap between subscription revenue and compute cost. Usage-based billing is the fastest way to show a path to margin. The free months and boosted limits both expire in July. What comes after July is the real pricing. Last week the repricing was a forecast. This week it's a fact. Adam Brown liked thisAdam Brown liked thisLost a role this week. Gutted. Not because I wasn't ready. My screen share failed during the presentation. Second stage interview. Solid deck. Tested it the night before. When the call started, it wouldn't share. Took a few minutes to sort out. By then the interviewers were frustrated and I was flustered. I rushed. Skipped my closing questions to claw back time. Got feedback today. The technical issues and the lack of questions cost me the role. Both preventable. What I'm changing: export every deck to PDF, upload to Google Drive, share the link before I even open my slides. Test the share, not just the deck. Write three questions down, treat them as non-negotiable. Test your setup. It's part of the interview. #JobSearch #Interviews #TechLeadership

Thanks to the team at Rivo (shout out to James Dohm and Stuart Chaney) for posting this - really shows how important retention is! https://lnkd.in/eRqhwcAg Some key stats I took from the article: - Retaining customers costs 5x less than acquiring new ones. - A 5% increase in customer retention can boost profits by 25% to 95%. - The probability of selling to an existing customer is 60-70%, while the probability of selling to a new customer is only 5-20%. Another one I can add from Swapt data for Amazon sellers: - 10-20% of pre-existing customers will review if you give them the opportunity (no incentives needed) If only Amazon brands somehow had a way of knowing their customers.. Check https://swaptqr.com for some tips on this!

The best way to use a powerful AI tool like Clay for your outbound sales is to start with a pen and paper. Seriously. Something we do, and I recommend you do too, is to take a couple of your prospects and do all the detailed research by hand that you want the tool to do. One of the most common mistakes in outbound is to think success comes from scale and not quality. Doing it this way means you know what good looks like, that's when you can use Clay to scale the good stuff.

Most sales reps think adding generic personalisation will automatically boost reply rates. They use tools like ChatGPT and Claude to craft “relevant” opening lines at scale. But that usually looks something like this: “Saw you’ve been CRO for 2 years at {company name} and you’re based in London. We’re helping other SaaS companies in London book more demos.” Using their job role? Not personal. Dropping the company name? Still not personal. Knowing their city? Not relevant. Real personalisation? When your first line makes them think: “They actually know what we do, what we’re struggling with, and what matters most.” What works: “Saw your new £99 SMB plan just launched - as CRO, I’m guessing your team have new targets to hit, and outbound will be a core GTM strategy.” One is generic. The other? Real. Relevant. Hard to ignore. That opening line earns their time - they’ll keep reading. That’s when you deliver impact, share results, and add a clear CTA. The first example? Not even worth finishing. At Perlon AI, our custom AI models craft these first lines - at scale. Trained on your ICP, product, and tone. Analysing 100k+ outbound messages monthly to sharpen your outreach in real time. Forget generic AI openers. Think: “Here’s why I’m reaching out - and why it matters to you.”

Commission-Based Lead Generation Ltd

Commission Based Lead Generation revolutionises customer acquisition for Gainsborough businesses by eliminating upfront marketing risk. This performance-driven model ensures companies pay only when leads convert into actual revenue, creating perfect alignment between marketing investment and business outcomes. Commission Based Lead Generation delivers qualified enquiries through high-intent digital channels including PPC and SEO, with each lead filtered for relevance before delivery. This approach particularly benefits accountants, solicitors, trade businesses, and B2B service providers in Gainsborough who want predictable growth without speculative marketing spend. The service typically costs 10-20% of conversion value, with pricing tied directly to performance rather than fixed fees. Commission Based Lead Generation provides exclusive leads delivered in real-time, supporting faster response times and improved close rates. The model scales lead delivery in line with business capacity, protecting service standards whilst enabling controlled growth. Case studies from Gainsborough businesses demonstrate significant improvements in enquiry quality and revenue consistency. James R. Commercial Services saw more relevant enquiries converting to confirmed jobs, whilst Northpoint Consultancy shortened sales cycles through real-time enquiry delivery. Commission Based Lead Generation requires accurate conversion tracking and responsive lead handling, but provides comprehensive support for businesses establishing structured sales processes. This accountability-focused approach makes it an ideal growth partner for companies seeking measurable results over marketing promises. For Gainsborough businesses ready to scale customer acquisition with confidence and control, Commission Based Lead Generation offers a transparent, low-risk solution that aligns marketing costs with revenue generation. #CommissionBasedLeadGeneration #Gainsborough https://lnkd.in/gkCVABk4

As Jamie Hall said "it's becoming more and more clear that in a couple of years none of us will be using web Saas that much - it's going to be us talking to agents and agents talking to systems that work for us". We were the first in market to recognise this with Lorikeet Coach in January and the reception to the official Claude Connector we launched yesterday has been great. Our subscribers have been relishing the power of building and testing at the speed of conversation. Jamie and I had a chance to chat with Bill Staikos on MultiModal Podcast recently... here's a sneak peak of the podcast here and look forward to the full release coming soon.
