About us

At Wayve, we’re building a global driving intelligence that learns from data and scales across different vehicles and geographies. Founded in 2017, we have pioneered an end-to-end AI approach to autonomous driving that is faster to deploy, more flexible by design and built to scale. We deliver all levels of autonomy, from hands-off and eyes-off driving, to robotaxis. We license and integrate the Wayve AI Driver as a vehicle-agnostic software platform that runs entirely on onboard vehicle compute and native sensors. Wayve is the first and only AV company to test a single global AI Driver model across more than 500 cities in Europe, North America and Japan. We’re building autonomy for anyone, in any vehicle, anywhere.

Proud to be part of this important milestone. 🇬🇧 Initiatives like this show the strong support for cutting-edge UK innovation, and we're proud to be backed by The British Business Bank as we continue to scale our global autonomy platform.

📣 Just announced: We’re thrilled to announce that British Growth Partnership Fund I has achieved a first close at £200 million, with commitments from UK pension funds Aegon UK, NatWest Cushon and M&G. The Fund will make its first investment of £8 million into Wayve, a UK-based autonomous driving company, contributing to the Bank’s £25 million investment announced in February. This is a landmark step in bringing UK pension fund capital into venture – delivered at speed through the British Growth Partnership. This is also the first time that Aegon UK and Cushon have invested in UK venture capital, bringing two of the UK’s pension funds into the asset class. The Fund intends to complete a final close in due course and is continuing discussions with prospective investors. The Bank is also developing further products to support pension funds to access venture capital. Find out more below.

Earlier this month, we marked International Women’s Day by spotlighting four women at Wayve and the role they’ve played in shaping our products, teams, and culture. As we close out March, we wanted to continue that conversation. In our latest blog, we hear from Chloé Masson, Elahe Arani, Tova Miller, and Vivian Kah Ong Wong about their experiences of working at Wayve. Reflecting on the theme of “Give to Gain”, they share what they bring to their work and teams, as well as what they’ve gained from Wayve and those around them. What a fantastic evening we shared yesterday, celebrating Britain’s top tech leaders at The Sunday Times 100 Tech Awards 2026 with partners Singer Capital Markets, BDO and HSBC Innovation Banking. We honoured high-growth companies such as Abound, Zenobē, Fuse Energy, AutogenAI and Draig Therapeutics, who are all shaping the UK economy. Special thanks to Richard TylerHannah Prevett, and our keynote speakers, Alex Kendall, Co-founder and CEO of Wayve and Anahita Laverack, Co-founder and CEO of Oshen, for inspiring insights into autonomous tech. Cheers to continued innovation in British tech!

Last week at NVIDIA GTC, our CEO Alex Kendall shared his perspective on what it will take to scale autonomy globally, and why we are all in on AV2.0. Watch his full keynote here: https://lnkd.in/edgQVKD6

What will it take to bring autonomy to any vehicle, anywhere? That’s the question I posed at NVIDIA GTC last week and my keynote is now available to watch online. Specifically, how do we move from proving autonomy works to a system that can scale across every city, across any architecture, for any application and level of autonomy? Answering this question requires the industry to make three key shifts: 1. How intelligence is built From AV1.0 modular, hand-engineered stacks or AV1.5 hybrid approaches to AV2.0 end-to-end deep learning models that we’ve proven are better, more generalisable drivers, with a better, more generalisable safety system (this is key - e2e is better for safety too, not just navigation!) 2. How intelligence is deployed From betting on one vehicle and form-factor to delivering a generalisable and hardware-agnostic AI driver, supported by a scalable AI platform purpose-built for AV2.0 3. How the autonomy ecosystem scales From narrow, vertically integrated approaches to integrated platforms across multiple OEMs, vehicle programmes, and commercial robotaxi deployments. While these shifts are contrarian to most of our industry, they have been at the core of Wayve’s approach. We had an end-to-end AI driving demo 5 years ago. What matters now is scaled commercial deployment. This is where Wayve is now focused. We are all in on AV2.0. Watch my full keynote here: https://lnkd.in/edgQVKD6

Ending our week-long showcase in the bright lights of Las Vegas 🇺🇸 This week, we've put our AI Driver to the test across three continents. No prior maps. No location-specific training. Another proof point of what’s possible when autonomy can truly generalise. In any vehicle, anywhere.

Last one, video #5/5 from our week long showcase! This hour-long, zero-shot video is from Vegas 🇺🇸 , driving up and down the strip during CES. This completes our week showing robust demonstrations of Wayve driving all around the world. Here's autonomous driving in heavy traffic in a new city, without any prior mapping or training data. Vegas has different traffic lights and behaviour compared to other cities in the US, and our AI seamlessly generalises to the environment. This demonstrates how our AV2.0 approach will enable autonomy to reach any vehicle, any where.

Day 4 of our week-long showcase. Wayve HQ ➡️ Heathrow ✈️ Enjoy!

Day 4, video #4. This hour-long, zero-shot autonomy video is a route I've done many times. From our London HQ to Heathrow, through central city then out onto the highway. 🇬🇧 Starting in London forced us to build autonomy that could scale. Compared to San Francisco, London has 10x more cyclists, 15x more pedestrians and 20x more roadworks. It is a 2000 year old city you need excellent intelligence to drive through. This is what we've spent the last decade building at Wayve with Embodied AI. Check it out!
