Fantastic experience for our bricklaying students
Twelve of our bricklaying students were recently given a unique opportunity to gain hands-on industry experience during a visit to South Tyneside College's new £95 million campus development in South Shields. The students, who are currently studying Level 1 Bricklaying, visited the live construction site as part of their course to see first-hand how skills learned in the classroom are applied within a real working environment. Thanks to the team from Castle for welcoming the group and giving them an insightful tour. Read more about the visit: https://lnkd.in/et5U9qNR

Tyne Coast College reposted this
We are pleased to highlight a site visit planned for a Victorian listed building - built in 1882 for the South Shields Poor Law Union – which will now play a central role in the new South Tyneside College and South Shields Marine School. A classic example of preserving heritage while shaping the future of education and high street regeneration. The visit, on May 29, by members of G4C North East will be led jointly by Castle as Principal Contractor and Architect and Lead Designer, GSSArchitecture. It will focus on the building refurbishment with an opportunity for a short tour of the wider main campus development as part of the South Tyneside College relocation. This project is a partnership between Tyne Coast College and South Tyneside Council delivered by Castle, and funded by Tyne Coast College, The North East Combined Authority as part of North East Mayor Kim McGuinness' drive to revitalise high streets, the Department for Education and UK Government. A great end to the day at #aSpire2026 in Birmingham. It’s been fantastic for our apprenticeship team to connect with colleagues from across the sector, share best practice, and explore how digital platforms continue to support quality, consistency, and learner engagement. A huge well done to Victoria mcqueeney, Apprenticeship Quality Lead, for delivering an excellent breakout session alongside Calderdale College, discussing the impact of Aptem across the apprenticeship journey. Thank you to the team at Aptem for hosting such a valuable event — and for the warm welcome throughout the day.

A fantastic opportunity for our #Apprenticeship team today at the aSpire Conference in Birmingham. We’re proud that our very own Victoria mcqueeney, Apprenticeship Quality Lead, is taking to the stage as a guest speaker during one of the breakout sessions alongside Calderdale College, discussing the value and impact of Aptem. The session will explore topics including championing Aptem across teams, driving quality improvements, learner impact, continuous improvement, and how the platform supports consistency, compliance, and engagement across the apprenticeship journey. Also attending today is Claire Shipley — if you’re at #aSpire2026, don’t forget to come and say hello! #Apprenticeships #FurtherEducation #aSpire2026
Today's the day - the doors are open at the ICC Birmingham, and we're welcoming customers to aSpire 2026. This year's programme covers some of the topics that matter most to the sector right now: the new Ofsted framework in practice, assessment reform, employer engagement and inclusion. Attendees will also get ideas and insights from peers about their use of Aptem, as well as having the opportunity to shape the direction of the product roadmap. If you're joining us today, we hope you make the most of every session, as well as the valuable conversations in between. #Apprenticeships #aSpire2026
