The Guardian reposted this
The Guardian has long been committed to documentary filmmaking as one of the most powerful ways to engage audiences and illuminate complex global issues with depth and humanity. This week the Guardian's standing in the industry was recognised on the global stage as our team brought home a News & Documentary Emmy Award for Along the Green Line, our three-part series exploring the viability of a two-state future for Israelis and Palestinians. Our Guardian Documentary film, Give Me Shelter, was also a finalist in Outstanding Short Documentary. This is the Guardian’s fourth time winning an Emmy Award. But more than being a milestone, this win reflects the hard-earned commitment of our team to fearless, multimedia reporting on some of the urgent crises of our time. I hope you’ll join me in congratulating Temujin Doran, Matthew Cassel, Guy Barak, Frances Rankin, Kyri Evangelou, Ayman Abu Ramouz and everyone who worked on Along the Green Line; and Lindsay Poulton, Laurence Topham, Tom Silverstone, Mei-Ling McNamara and Annie Kelly, among others, who worked on Give Me Shelter on this magnificent global recognition of their work.
