Private credit, the once-booming corner of lending markets, is showing signs of shakiness, raising alarms that a broader set of investors could be exposed just as President Trump pushes to loosen regulations. https://nyti.ms/416EzCr

I recently visited Inge Esping at McPherson Middle School in Kansas to report on a new tech backlash spreading in education: Chromebook remorse. McPherson is at the forefront of schools that once provided the Google-powered laptops to each child to freely use at school and at home -- and are now moving to more limited, more "purposeful" student device use. “This technology can be a tool," says Esping, Kansas' Middle School Principal of the Year. "It is not the answer to education.” Teachers, school tech directors, parents and principals, students and superintendents: if you have suggestions for school tech stories, please DM me or email me at: nsinger@nytimes.com thanks! https://lnkd.in/g2uDUWsP

The New York Times is expanding its health and science coverage, introducing new beats such as biotech and A.I. research and creating dedicated health coverage teams on the Business desk and in Washington. As part of the expansion, we'll also increase our wellness coverage and invest in more visual journalism and other forms of storytelling. Read more about the changes.

Hi from the NY Times newsroom and the studios where we make The Daily. Have you done a job interview that was conducted by AI instead of a human being? Are you an employer experimenting with AI interviewing? If so, the Times would love to talk with you. Please contact stella.tan@nytimes.com.
