The UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment, the catalyst for responsible investment.
About us
The Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) is an investor initiative in partnership with UNEP FI and the UN Global Compact. Founded in 2006 and supported by the United Nations, the PRI has become the leading network for investors demonstrating their commitment to responsible ownership and long-term, sustainable returns. Pension funds, insurance companies, sovereign/development funds, investment managers and service providers make up the PRI network. Our goal is to grow investor interest in environmental, social and corporate governance issues (ESG), share best practice and support signatory needs in their fulfilment of the six PRI Principles.

Companies and investors each have a critical role to play, and the alignment between the two has never been more important. Nathan Fabian, Sanda Ojiambo

"The PRI welcomes the South Korean government's decision to establish a clear roadmap for mandatory sustainability disclosures, providing regulatory clarity and strengthening long-term market certainty. Evidence consistently shows that standardised sustainability data enables effective investment analysis and supports responsible capital allocation. Alignment with the ISSB global baseline will enhance the comparability and credibility of Korean corporate data for international investors. This is a significant step forward in building the transparent, well-functioning capital markets that long-term investors and beneficiaries need." Says Nathan Fabian The PRI, 한국사회책임투자포럼(KoSIF) and the Asian Corporate Governance Association (ACGA) have written jointly to the Korean National Assembly ESG Forum, the Financial Services Commission and the Korea Sustainability Standards Board welcoming the Draft Roadmap for Mandatory Sustainability Disclosures 🇰🇷 Our three key recommendations: 📌 Align with IFRS S1 and S2 while reflecting Korea's local context. 📌 Implement an ambitious timeline with broad scope across listed issuers. 📌 Embed disclosures within statutory filings to strengthen data quality and investor confidence. A growing evidence base — including the PRI's investment case database — confirms that robust disclosure frameworks support responsible capital allocation and long-term value creation. Institutional investors are stepping up on climate action, but they can’t deliver the net-zero transition alone. Last year, $2.1 trillion was invested into the transition and solar became the cheapest energy in history. Yet only 15% of investment reaches emerging markets outside China, and current policies still put us on a 2.8°C pathway. Investors are integrating climate risk and allocating capital, but they need an enabling policy environment to scale the transition. Our COP30 briefing urges policymakers to deliver credible transition plans and unlock investment where it matters most.
