  • Another incredible project that Skyhook Helicopters has been proud to support. Over the past two years, this has been a challenging yet highly rewarding journey. Seeing the finished result makes all the hard work worthwhile and we’re proud to have played a part in bringing it to life 🚁

Argyll has some stunning locations and projects. This is Staffa lying off Iona home of the famous Fingals Cave and visited by thousands of people every year. The council has worked with the National Trust to apply and receive RTIF funding from Visitscotland to improve the landing point and access paths which has now been completed. Talk about a challenging site to build. #tourism

🚁 Building mobile infrastructure in some of the UK’s more rural areas often requires a different approach. As part of the Shared Rural Network, helicopters are playing a vital role in helping teams reach sites where road access is limited or impractical. By transporting people, equipment and materials directly to site, we can significantly reduce build times and remove the need for lengthy, temporary access tracks. It’s often the more environmentally responsible option too, reducing ground disturbance and minimising impact on land and habitats. It’s a clear example of how smarter delivery can help bring mobile coverage to new places efficiently, with greater care for the landscapes involved.

  • Dear Customer, Due to the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, global fuel prices have become increasingly volatile. As aviation fuel is a significant component of our operating costs, we will be introducing a temporary fuel surcharge on our operations. This measure will help us manage the impact of rising fuel prices while continuing to provide the safe, reliable service you expect from Skyhook Helicopters. We will keep this surcharge under regular review and will remove it as soon as fuel prices stabilise. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Kind regards, Skyhook Helicopters

  • Powerline infrastructure is the backbone of our communities. Delivering reliable electricity across cities, rural regions, and some of the most challenging terrain on earth. As grids expand and modernise, utilities need solutions that are faster, safer, and more environmentally responsible. That’s where 🚁 Skyhook Helicopters comes in. Helicopter supported powerline construction and maintenance isn’t just impressive to watch, it delivers real operational advantages: • Access Anywhere - Mountains, forests, wetlands, and remote corridors are no obstacle. • Reduced Environmental Footprint - Less temporary roads, less ground disturbance, and minimal impact in sensitive areas. • Efficiency & Speed - Accelerated line stringing, tower placement, and maintenance reduce project timelines and minimise outages. • Enhanced Safety - Highly skilled aerial crews reduce ground risk and limit exposure in difficult terrain. • Rapid Emergency Response - When storms hit, aerial capability restores power faster. At Skyhook Helicopters, precision utility operations help utilities build stronger, more resilient transmission and distribution networks while meeting the highest standards of safety and performance. As energy demand grows and renewable integration increases, aerial solutions will continue to play a critical role in powering the future. #SkyhookHelicopters #PowerlineConstruction #UtilityHelicopters #GridModernisation #Infrastructure #EnergySector

  • In UK helicopter operations, one thing is always guaranteed... the weather has the final say. And in Scotland, that’s never more true. Low cloud, mist rolling in off the hills, sudden wind changes, persistent rain conditions can shift in minutes. For those of us at Skyhook Helicopters, this directly impacts how we plan and deliver HESLO operations every single day. External load work depends on: ✔️ Good visibility ✔️ Stable winds ✔️ Safe operating margins ✔️ Strong communication When the weather deteriorates, productivity slows. Flights are delayed. Loads are postponed. Schedules change. That’s never easy, especially when our clients are working to tight deadlines and demanding programmes. We understand the pressure, and we do everything we can to minimise disruption and keep projects moving. But safety always comes first. Operating in challenging environments like the Scottish Highlands requires experience, patience, and disciplined decision making. Sometimes, the best professional call is to pause, reassess, and wait for conditions to improve, even when it’s not the easiest option. Our commitment at Skyhook is simple: ✔️ Deliver reliable, professional HESLO services ✔️ Communicate clearly and honestly ✔️ Adapt quickly when conditions change ✔️ Put safety at the heart of every decision Foggy starts, marginal days, changing forecasts, it’s all part of working in the UK. What matters is how you respond. We’re proud of our pilots, engineers, and ground crews who consistently operate to the highest standards, often in some of the toughest flying conditions in the country, while still going the extra mile to support our clients. You can’t control the weather. But you can control how you operate in it. #SkyhookHelicopters #HESLO #ExternalLoad #UKAviation #Scotland #HelicopterOperations #AviationSafety #ClientFocused #TeamWork #AviationLife

  • Skyhook Helicopters has been proud to support sport within our local community and to have been a sponsor of the Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club for the past two seasons. We recognise that the club represents more than what is seen on the ice and includes many dedicated staff, volunteers, and community members who give their time and effort to support the sport and its fans. We are aware of recent media coverage involving the club. As a sponsor, Skyhook Helicopters has not been involved in the day-to-day management or operational decisions of the organisation. After careful consideration, Skyhook Helicopters has decided that, moving forward, we will have no further association with the club. This decision has not been taken lightly and reflects our commitment to professionalism, integrity, and our wider responsibilities as a business.

  • Skyhook Helicopters was pleased to support A.C.T Heritage Ltd with recent works at Prince Albert’s Cairn on the Balmoral Estate. Our aircraft was tasked with the precision placement of stone-filled bags, enabling repair works to be carried out on the historic granite pyramid, which has suffered erosion due to increased visitor numbers. Prince Albert’s Cairn, also known as Prince Albert’s Pyramid was constructed in 1862 by Queen Victoria as a lasting memorial to her husband. Supporting the preservation of such an important heritage site highlights the value of helicopter operations in accessing remote and sensitive locations while minimising ground disturbance. A great example of aviation playing a role in protecting Scotland’s historic landscape.
