131 years ago, on May 29, 1895, Carl von Linde liquefied air for the first time. This incredible milestone opened the door to modern industry. By separating oxygen, nitrogen and other essential gases, his breakthrough made countless innovations possible - transforming science, industry and everyday life. Today, Linde continues to build on that legacy. Our air separation technologies enable everything from electronics, space exploration and clean energy to food preservation and advanced healthcare. What began as a pioneering achievement over a century ago still drives progress today - helping shape a more productive, safe and sustainable world. #LindesLegacy

Linde is expanding its long‑term partnership with Zhenshi Group Eastern Special Steel to support a new green nickel‑chromium materials project in Zhejiang. Linde will continue to supply safe and reliable industrial gases via a new large‑scale ASU, along with the introduction of three REBOX® full oxy‑fuel combustion systems, which use pure oxygen instead of air, significantly reducing fuel consumption and cutting NOX and CO₂ emissions. Already in use at 180+ steel furnaces worldwide, REBOX® full oxy‑fuel is now being deployed for the first time in large‑scale steel heating and heat treatment application in China - an exciting step forward for cleaner, more efficient steel production. #LindeIsEverywhere Photo Credit: Current application at SANDVIK, Sweden.

Hydrogen can play a meaningful role within the energy resilience toolkit, supporting lower-carbon energy systems alongside other technologies. At the recent Hydrogen Council meeting in Rotterdam, Linde joined ministers and industry representatives to discuss hydrogen’s capabilities, and support calls for stronger demand activation and greater investment in critical infrastructure.
📢 Today at the International Hydrogen Trade Forum (IHTF) Ministerial-CEO Roundtable in Rotterdam, the Hydrogen Council launched ‘Hydrogen for a Resilient World’ – a CEO-led Call-To-Action urging governments to accelerate #hydrogen deployment as a key enabler for deep and secure electrification, strengthening long-term resilience across global energy systems, industry and society. Held on the sidelines of the World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition, the latest IHTF roundtable brought together senior government officials from major energy importing and exporting countries alongside a Hydrogen Council delegation of global CEOs, led by Francois Jackow, CEO of Air Liquide and Co-Chair of the Hydrogen Council. Amid compounding crises – including the most recent conflict in the Middle East – the need to strengthen energy system resilience has never been more urgent. Leaders called for more ambitious, focused and pragmatic hydrogen strategies. “We need the public-private collaboration to take firm steps to phase in clean hydrogen at scale in our energy system. In the face of today’s crisis, we need to shift gears to advance hydrogen deployment,” Stientje van Veldhoven, Minister for Climate and Green Growth of the Netherlands, on behalf of the IHTF Co-Chairs. The Call-to-Action outlines three priority actions for governments: 1️⃣ Act now: embed hydrogen in emergency crisis response measures by recognizing hydrogen and its derivatives as critical tools for supply diversification, electrification and energy security. 2️⃣ Activate demand creation tools through pragmatic instruments such as contracts for difference, offtake guarantees, lead-market programs, public procurement and quotas for clean industrial products, which provide the certainty needed to unlock investment at scale. 3️⃣ Boost critical infrastructure investment including electrolyzers, storage facilities, pipelines, port terminals and cross-border transport networks needed to connect emerging global supply and demand centers. Inaction is not an option. Just two months of the energy crisis triggered by conflict in the Middle East have cost importing countries in Europe and Asia over USD 100 billion. Investing instead in technology diversification – pairing electrification with hydrogen and its derivatives – would mark a decisive step towards a more resilient world, better equipped to weather such shocks, or prevent them altogether. The Hydrogen Council and its members stand ready to continue working with governments and international partners, including through the upcoming Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM), to accelerate hydrogen deployment and together deliver a more resilient world. A sincere thank you to all ministerial and industry participants for an action-oriented conversation. 👉 Read the press release and the full Call-to-Action in the comments below #HydrogenForResilience #HydrogenLeadership #WORLDHYDROGEN
