We’re thrilled to see Daily30 featured in Vogue… again! In an article sharing "7 Easy Tips for More Fiber Daily", Vogue described Daily30 as an easy place to start, highlighting that it contains 30+ plants and delivers 5g of fiber per scoop. It’s exciting to see more conversations around the importance of fiber and plant diversity, and encouraging to see evidence-based nutrition becoming part of people’s everyday habits. Thank you to Margaux Anbouba for the feature. Link in the comments to read the full article. 💛

I discovered from my guest this week, the famous science writer Michael Pollan, that the corn grown across America can't be eaten directly by humans. You’d break your teeth trying. Instead, it is taken to chemical factories that turn it into hundreds of additives and ingredients that are the building blocks of ultra-processed food. The same happens in the UK, except it starts with wheat. This “food” is now the majority of our diet. And the explosion of UPF matches the explosion of diseases which have been reducing our healthy life expectancy. So how did our food system drift so far away from actual food? And what should we be eating instead? That is the topic I discuss this week with Michael, one of the most influential science writers of our time. As a six-time bestselling author, he has transformed how millions think about food, plants, and the hidden systems shaping what we eat. We're also joined by Tim Spector, one of the world’s top 100 most-cited scientists, and my scientific co-founder at ZOE. Together, we explore: - How modern agriculture reshaped the food on our plates - Why many ultra-processed foods are so difficult to stop eating - Whether our cravings are really just about willpower - What caffeine is actually doing to your brain and body - And why eating more diverse plants may be one of the simplest ways to improve long-term health By the end of this episode, you’ll understand why so much modern food leaves us wanting more, and some practical principles that can help you make better choices for your health in a very unnatural food environment. There are trillions of viruses inside your gut right now. And if that isn't surprising enough, some of them are playing an important role in keeping you healthy. This week, I’m joined by Martha Clokie, a professor of microbiology at University of Leicester and leading expert on bacteriophages — viruses that infect and destroy bacteria. For the last 20 years, Martha has pioneered research to understand what these viruses, and whether she can develop bacteriophage therapy as a revolutionary approach to treat bacterial infections without antibiotics. Together with Professor Tim Spector, my scientific co-founder at ZOE, we explore a side of viruses that most of us have never heard about. We uncover: - Why most viruses are completely harmless to humans - How viruses in our gut help control the bacterial ecosystem we call the microbiome. - Why some scientists believe phages could help solve the antibiotic resistance crisis - How phage therapy has already been used to save patients with untreatable infections - And what this hidden world of viruses may mean for the future of medicine I found this episode absolutely fascinating. By the end, you’ll understand why viruses are not only something to fear, but something we may one day rely on to save lives. Link in the comments to listen now.

ZOE IRL is the most important week in our year. We’re proud to be a remote-first team, built across time zones, screens, and Slack. It’s what allows us to bring together exceptional talent from around the world, all working towards one mission: improving the health of millions. Our annual retreat is where it all comes together. This year, we gathered at Wilderness Reserve to step away from the day-to-day and reconnect, not just as colleagues, but as a team building something ambitious together. One of the most powerful moments was meeting our ZOE members face to face. Hearing how the products we build have changed their health and their lives was a profound reminder that our work has real, lasting impact. We pushed our thinking through an in-person All-Hands and a fireside chat with Daniel Waterhouse, creating space for new ideas, challenges, and what comes next. And just as importantly, we made time to connect. Wellness afternoons with sound baths, pottery, and paddleboarding. Bike rides, wild swims, and scavenger hunts through the beautiful Suffolk countryside. Time to slow down in the spa. Long tables of incredible food, created from ZOE’s own recipes, designed to nourish our gut microbes and bring people together. We celebrated our people at our Bloody Brilliant awards, recognising those who went above and beyond this past year. And we closed it all with our famous Yellow Party, a true celebration of the team behind ZOE, with great food, music, and a dance floor that stayed busy late into the night. We’re leaving this unforgettable IRL re-energised, more connected, and clearer than ever on what we’re building. None of this would have been possible without our incredible People team, who put so much care and thought into every detail: Ashley Jameson, Becky Heyward and Natasha Ladyman. Thank you to Jonathan Wolf and Tim Spector, for bringing us together for another incredibly special IRL. And a big thank you to our partners who helped keep our ZOEntists nourished and hydrated throughout: Bold Bean Co | B Corp™, Agua de Madre | B Corp™, FIX8, London Nootropics, Pip & Nut | B Corp, FUEGO Go with your Gut, Cecii Health, Willy's ACV - Probiotic Live Foods, and Fermary. #LifeAtZOE

Early in my career, I was told tech wasn’t for me. That I was “too people-focused.” Not technical enough. Not the profile people expected. I remember questioning whether there was really a place for someone like me in this industry. Now, as CPO ZOE, that experience is a big part of why this matters so much to me. At ZOE, we know that to solve the world's most complex health challenges, you need a diverse team. 31% of our technical roles at ZOE are held by women. Well above the industry average. But we're not stopping there. We're hosting our first-ever ZOE Women in Tech Hackathon in London, 8th–9th July. Two days to tackle real-world health challenges alongside the people actually building the future of nutrition science. What you'll get out of it: 🏗️ Build the future: Work on problems that matter using ZOE's unique approach to data and science. ✨ Be inspired: Meet the women shaping our engineering, product and design teams. 🌱 Grow your network: Join a community using tech as a force for good. And on a personal note, I’m especially proud to be partnering with my former colleagues Sarah Cotterill and David Sheehan at Hult International Business School to bring this to life. It feels pretty special to work with people who helped shape my own journey while creating opportunities for the next generation. Spaces are limited. Applications close on 29th May. Apply via the link in the comments. #ZOE #LifeAtZoe #WomenInTech #HealthTech #NutritionScience

Allergies are on the rise. 1/3 of adults now have seasonal allergies like hayfever. Food allergies can be life threatening, and now affect 1 in 20 children. Food intolerances and allergies were once vanishingly rare, but within a single generation, they have exploded. And 200 years ago seasonal allergies were unknown. So what's changed, and why are they rising so rapidly? This week, I’m joined by Adam Fox, one of the world’s leading allergy experts and Professor at King’s College London, who received an OBE for his contribution to reshaping medical approaches to allergies. Together, we unravel: - Why allergies have risen so dramatically - The difference between allergies, intolerances, and sensitivities - What’s happening inside your body during a reaction to pollen, peanuts or gluten - Why conditions like hay fever and peanut allergy are now so common - How to reduce your symptoms - And new approaches that can actually cure allergies By the end of this episode, you’ll understand why allergies are increasing, what’s driving them, and how to reduce your symptoms. You’ve got a cold. So you automatically reach for a decongestant and painkillers. But are you supporting your body, or working against it? We've been taught to see symptoms like a runny nose, a fever or a cough as signs that something has gone wrong. Our body is letting us down. But are they the problem, or part of the solution? This week, I’m joined by Dr Giulia Enders, a gastroenterologist who changed my life eight years ago when I read her book Gut. It turns out I was not alone. She sold more than eight million copies and helped the world discover the concept of gut health. She’s finally written another book and today we explore a very different way of thinking about your immune system: not as something to “boost” or fight, but something to keep in balance. We uncover: - Why “boosting” your immune system can backfire - Why common symptoms may actually help you recover - When it makes sense to treat symptoms , and when it might not - And the three everyday habits that help keep it in balance By the end of this episode, you’ll understand how to support your immune system, rather than work against it.
