🛰️ EarthDaily CEO: LEO satellite boom is transforming IoT from local sensing to global intelligence 🌍 Donald Osborne, Chief Executive Officer of EarthDaily, was on his way to a conference in Colorado when the company’s latest six satellites reached low Earth orbit aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rideshare mission earlier this month. “I wasn’t terribly stressed about the launch itself,” he says. “But once they’re jettisoned, that’s when the fun begins. You have to track them, make sure you can communicate with them, point them in the right direction, and power them up one by one. That’s when the stress kicks in.” You can discover more here: https://lnkd.in/edb2xzcv #IoTInsider #iot #tech #technology #satellite #global #SpaceX #launch

📶 Qorvo, Inc. eliminates cascaded switches in 5G radios Qorvo announced a new family of RF switches designed to simplify multi-band radio architectures. Spanning 50MHz to 10GHz, the family reduces component count, improves signal integrity, and enables more efficient RF system design across 5G infrastructure, industrial, drone, and test applications. “Designers no longer have to rely on cascaded switch architectures to achieve high isolation. We’re delivering that performance in a single device across a very wide bandwidth,” said Debbie Gibson, General Manager of Qorvo’s infrastructure business. This approach reduces insertion loss, maintains signal linearity and simplifies design, improving receiver performance in applications such as digital pre-distortion (DPD) feedback. ⚽ Game of throw-ins: the sensors, semiconductors, and smart tech inside the FIFA World Cup 2026™ - Canada, Mexico and the United States 2026 ball The most intelligent player at the next FIFA World Cup may not wear boots, complain to referees, or collapse theatrically in the penalty box. It will, however, spend 90 minutes being kicked very hard. The newest ball, also made by adidas using technology from German sports tech firm KINEXON, continues the trend of embedding real-time telemetry directly into the game itself. “As soon as the tournament hosts were announced, we knew we had to make something special – a ball that can be played everywhere, from the backyard to the world’s biggest stage,” said Solene Stoermann, Category Director at adidas, announcing the ball last summer. “TRIONDA is set to be a main character in the biggest show on earth, and we cannot wait for fans and players to enjoy the moment.” You can discover more here: https://lnkd.in/eQj_Jvqp #IoTInsider #iot #tech #technology #sensors #semiconductor #FIFA #WorldCup

Twisted carbon nanotubes unlock giant light conversion effect for faster photonic chips in IoT networks 💻 Researchers in the US have demonstrated a centimetre-scale carbon nanotube film with what they describe as a record-breaking ability to convert light frequencies, a breakthrough that could strengthen the optical foundations underpinning next-generation communications and computing systems used in the IoT ecosystem. 🌞 The work, led by Rice University School of Engineering and Computing and published in ACS Nano, shows that carefully aligned, single-enantiomer chiral carbon nanotubes can produce “giant” second harmonic generation (SHG), a nonlinear optical process in which incoming light is converted into light at twice the frequency. “Typically, when we have a macroscopic ensemble of carbon nanotubes, half of them are right-handed and the other half are left-handed,” said Junichiro Kono, a senior researcher on the study. “So, their chiral properties cancel each other out.” You can read more here: https://lnkd.in/e7dCv6S8 #IoTInsider #iot #tech #technology #carbonnanotubes #network #lightfrequencies
