Nearly two million tickets sold for FIFA World Cup 2026™, as excitement builds for the Final Draw on Friday 5 December! The third phase of ticket sales runs from 11 December -13 January and gives fans the first opportunity to apply for single-match tickets based on exact match-ups and teams for group stage games, determined by the Final Draw and subsequent match schedule reveal. During the two initial ticket sale phases, residents of the three host countries – the United States, Canada and Mexico, in that order – drove the most purchases, followed by fans from England, Germany, Brazil, Colombia, Spain, Argentina and France. Fans from 212 countries and territories have already secured their tickets. “With 42 teams already qualified, we are witnessing huge global interest as we prepare to find out, in just a few days’ time, most of the match-ups, as well as where and when they will take place,” said Heimo Schirgi, FIFA World Cup 2026™ Chief Operating Officer. “With the much-awaited opening match in Mexico City kicking off in fewer than 200 days, we are ready and excited to welcome fans in North America next year for the biggest FIFA World Cup yet.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/eTFKsD2D

The Final Draw for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ is almost here 🙌 On Friday, 5 December, participating teams will find out which pathway they must follow in their quest to lift the trophy in New York New Jersey on Sunday, 19 July 2026. With fewer than 200 days to go until the start of the first-ever 48-team FIFA World Cup™, the procedures for determining the composition of the tournament's 12 unprecedented groups of four have been confirmed. The Final Draw will bring together coaches and officials from all qualified teams — and those still in contention — at the prestigious John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC, where they will discover their opponents in pursuit of ultimate glory. The Final Draw procedures stipulate that the hosts Canada, Mexico and the USA will be allocated to pot 1, and the 39 remaining qualified teams will be allocated to the four pots of 12 teams each according to the FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking issued on Wednesday, 19 November 2025. The match schedule for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Play-Off Tournament has been confirmed! 🗓️ Guadalajara Stadium and Monterrey Stadium will stage two matches each during the tournament, with Guadalajara hosting play-off pathway 1 featuring New Caledonia, Jamaica and Congo DR and Monterrey hosting play-off pathway 2 involving Bolivia, Suriname and Iraq. The semi-final matches in both cities will be played on Thursday, 26 March, before the finals are contested on Tuesday, 31 March. The FIFA World Cup 2026 Play-Off Tournament will be played in single-leg knockout matches, ensuring high-stakes showdowns in Mexico as the six competing nations seek to secure one of the final places at the first-ever 48 team FIFA World Cup. Determining the final six spots at the FIFA World Cup 2026™ 🏆 The draws for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Play-Off Tournament and European Play-Offs have been confirmed. The FIFA World Cup 2026™ Play-Off Tournament will feature two finals, in which the winners of the semi-finals contested by the unseeded teams will face the two seeded teams, with the nations that prevail in the finals securing their spots at the FIFA World Cup 2026™. The European Play-Offs is made up of 12 group runners-up and the four best-ranked UEFA Nations League section winners. The 16 participating teams have been drawn into four play-off paths, each consisting of four teams. Within each path, the teams will contest single-legged semi-finals, with the winners of the semi-finals progressing to single-legged finals to determine the final four UEFA representatives.

FIFA Legends Karembeu, Materazzi and Dahlin named as assistants for FIFA World Cup 2026™ Play-Off Tournament and European play-off draws 🏆 FIFA World Cup™-winning duo Christian Karembeu and Marco Materazzi and Martin Dahlin, who was part of the Swedish side that clinched the final podium place at the 1994 edition of FIFA’s flagship tournament, have been announced as the assistants for the Draw for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Play-Off Tournament and the European Play-Off Draw, which will take place on Thursday 20 November. The draws will map out the paths the 22 competing nations – six in the FIFA play-off tournament and 16 in the European play-offs – will need to negotiate to qualify for the first 48-team FIFA World Cup™ and the maiden edition of the tournament to be co-hosted by three countries: Canada, Mexico and the United States. The six-nation FIFA World Cup 2026™ Play-Off Tournament and the 16-team European play-offs will take place during the international match window to be staged from 23 to 31 March 2026.
