Over the past eight months, our first graduate cohort have made a real impact across GBE‑N, supporting key projects, representing us at industry events, and bringing fresh perspectives to teams right across the organisation. From outreach and reverse mentoring to strengthening our links with the Young Generation Network, they’ve set a strong foundation for the cohorts that follow. We’re proud to have been part of their journey so far and look forward to seeing what they achieve next across the nuclear sector. We’re also looking forward to welcoming a new cohort of graduates next month. Read more here -https://lnkd.in/eiGAVJBg

To mark Learning at Work Week, we joined colleagues at Rolls-Royce SMR for a Welsh language taster session led by Lauren Hurford Bate from Bangor University. We explored workplace greetings, everyday conversations and pronunciation, showing how learning can be practical, inclusive and enjoyable. This is particularly valuable as our SMR programme at Wylfa progresses. At GBE-N, we support learning and development in many ways: • Formal training and masterclasses • Coaching and mentoring • Learning through experience and collaboration • Early careers programmes Because learning is not one-size-fits-all, it happens every day through conversations, feedback, practice and trying new things.

Yr wythnos hon yn Wylfa, fe wnaethom ddod â phartneriaid, cynrychiolwyr lleol, preswylwyr a gweithwyr at ei gilydd i fyfyrio ar adeg bwysig i ddyfodol ynni niwclear yn y DU. Ar ôl llofnodi ein cytundeb gyda Rolls-Royce SMR, roedd y digwyddiad yn nodi cam nesaf y daith at ddarparu Adweithyddion Modiwlaidd Bach cyntaf y DU. Ochr yn ochr â thrafodaethau ar gyflawni, gweithio mewn partneriaeth a’r cyfleoedd sydd o’n blaenau, roedd y diwrnod hefyd yn cydnabod pa mor bwysig yw lle, treftadaeth a chymuned. Wrth i’r cynlluniau barhau i ddatblygu yn Wylfa, rydym wedi ymrwymo o hyd i weithio’n agos gyda chymunedau lleol a sicrhau bod manteision y prosiect yn cael eu teimlo ar draws Ynys Môn a gogledd Cymru – gan gynnwys sgiliau a swyddi, buddsoddiad tymor hir a chyfleoedd yn y gadwyn gyflenwi. Roedd y digwyddiad hefyd yn dathlu lansio cystadleuaeth enwi leol ar gyfer datblygiad Wylfa, gan gydnabod hunaniaeth Ynys Môn, ei diwylliant a’r iaith Gymraeg fel rhan bwysig o ddyfodol y prosiect. Diolch i bawb a ymunodd â ni ac a gyfrannodd at garreg filltir mor bwysig. 💡 This week at Wylfa, we brought together partners, local representatives, residents and workers to reflect on an important moment for the future of nuclear energy in the UK. Following the signing of our agreement with Rolls-Royce SMR, the event marked the next stage in the journey towards delivering the UK’s first Small Modular Reactors. Alongside discussions on delivery, partnership working and the opportunities ahead, the day also recognised the importance of place, heritage and community. As plans continue to develop at Wylfa, we remain committed to working closely with local communities and ensuring the benefits of the project are felt across Anglesey and North Wales — from skills and jobs to long-term investment and supply chain opportunities. The event also celebrated the launch of a local naming competition for the Wylfa development, recognising the Island’s identity, culture and Welsh language as an important part of the project’s future. Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such an important milestone. https://lnkd.in/eZ2v7mNn

We’re proud to announce that Great British Energy - Nuclear (GBE-N) has signed a contract with Rolls-Royce SMR to deliver the UK’s first Small Modular Reactors (SMRs). This agreement unlocks the next phase of the programme, creating 3,000 jobs at peak construction and thousands more across the UK supply chain, while strengthening national energy security. SMRs are a game-changer: modular, factory-built, and designed to deliver clean, reliable power for decades. Each unit will generate enough low-carbon electricity to power more than one million homes for over 60 years. This is a defining moment for the UK’s clean energy future – and we’re proud to lead it. Today, the UK Government has taken a step closer to delivering a golden age of nuclear by implementing recommendations from the independent Nuclear Regulatory Taskforce to streamline regulation. By creating a more efficient regulatory system, the reforms aim to accelerate the delivery of new nuclear projects, including our Wylfa site in North Wales - the future home of the UK’s first Small Modular Reactors.

Great British Energy - Nuclear reposted this
Britain's biggest construction site isn't what you might expect. #HinkleyPointC will power the equivalent of 6 million homes with zero-carbon electricity. Lord Vallance got to see the progress that’s being made at Britain’s newest nuclear power station in a generation. Creating 26,000 jobs at peak construction and saving 9 million tonnes of CO₂ every year compared to gas-fired power stations. Cleaner power. Greater energy security. More jobs across the country. This is what our golden age of nuclear looks like. EDF (UK)
