When people ask what my role is and I say 'Community Manager', I can see them trying to work out what that means. What I know is that it's mostly just conversations. Finding out what someone actually needs, what they care about, whether there's something real we can build together. I work across the UK StartUp Awards,The Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards, Ideas Fest, UK Fast Growth Index and Great British Industry Awards and there's never a shortage of exciting things happening. But the part I love isn't really what everyone loves from the outside, being the events or the award nights, it's the bit before and after all of that. It's the moments we build to make it work. I care an awful lot about getting things right for people and I think that's what makes it successful. If you're curious about what we do and whether there's something in it for you, my inbox is always open.

  • Louise Hill, Founder of GoHenry, joined us at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards and captured the atmosphere perfectly. The energy in the room. The strength of the community. The ambition driving British entrepreneurship forward. The Awards is more than a ceremony. It is a gathering of founders building exceptional businesses across the UK, and taking a moment to recognise the journey. We look forward to welcoming the next room full of entrepreneurs soon. • Sometimes recognition takes a moment to sink in. 🏆 Ashlee Jane, founder of The Suffolk Nest and East of England Creative Entrepreneur of the Year, shares the quieter reality behind being recognised the self-doubt, the years of work, and the moment it finally lands. It’s a reminder that awards are never just about one night. They’re about the journey that leads there, and the people who support you along the way. • Your business doesn’t grow in isolation. It grows through conversations, shared experience, and being in the right room at the right time with people who understand the journey. This carousel recognises just a handful of founders from the Great British Entrepreneur Awards community. Each at a different stage. Each with a different story. All connected by one thing: the people around them. Featuring our GBEA Alumni 🏆 Lucie Macleod - Hair Syrup Dr Mark Williams DBA PLY OBE & RACHAEL WILLIAMS - Limb-art Adam Chaudhri & Eloise Frank - The Big Bakes Sam Teale - Sam Teale Productions Caroline Strawson - The Mental Wellbeing Company The awards ceremony may last one night, but the real value comes from the connections made before and long after. So as we look ahead to 2026, the question isn’t just where are you going next? It’s who do you want in the room with you when you get there? Join the conversation. Be in the room in 2026. • Winning never gets old. But some moments mean more than others. 🏆 Kerrie Goude and Madeline Griffiths from TOTFest Festival, won South East Creative Entrepreneur of the Year at last year's Great British Entrepreneur Awards. It was their second time entering. When we asked them what kept them going, they said: pure grit and determination. Clinging on to why they started, even when things got really tough. Recognition like this isn't just about the trophy. It's about what it represents. Years of work. Shared ambition. Creative courage. • Some of the most important moments at the Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards don’t happen on stage. They happen across tables. In quiet conversations. In introductions that turn into opportunities. While the awards recognise achievement, the real purpose has always been connection. Bringing together founders, leaders and investors who understand the realities of building a business. The pressure. The uncertainty. The moments when it feels like you’re figuring things out alone. That’s why this room matters. Because one introduction can lead to a mentor. A conversation can turn into an investment. And a shared experience can become a long-term partnership. Frankie James explains on our #TBT behind-the-scenes series on exactly why connection sits at the heart of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards and what can come from simply being in the room. • How often do founders feel the pressure to show up with everything, every single time? This moment from Oli Barrett is a timely reminder that energy is a finite resource. Sustainable growth, both personal and professional, comes from understanding your limits and respecting them. At the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, these are the conversations that sit alongside the trophies and celebrations. Real insights from people who have been there, built businesses and learned what it takes to keep going. Entrepreneurship isn’t just about growth. It’s about endurance, self-awareness and the people around you. What advice has helped you protect your energy as a founder? • One night of celebration. 365 days of connection. 🏆 This is the principle that sits at the heart of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards. While the ceremony is the highlight of the calendar, the real work happens in the months between. Connecting founders, spotting opportunities and supporting the entrepreneurial ecosystem throughout the year. Our founder, Frankie James, was reflecting on this recently after receiving a text message from a finalist on the morning of the awards. Not about winning. Not about the party. But about the very real business impact the community had already delivered before the doors even opened. It’s a small moment that captures exactly why year-round community matters more than a single night. Want to hear the full story and what that message actually said?
