About us

The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) is a not for profit members’ association established in 2015 by key esports stakeholders worldwide to deal with issues of common interest – in particular the threat that match manipulation, betting fraud and other integrity challenges pose to esports. Since then, ESIC has expanded to become a significant international influence in other areas of esports, often acting as the body which sets the benchmarks for best practices within the industry worldwide. ESIC operates on a 'coalition' model which utilises a series of memorandums of understanding to establish a common framework across several industry stakeholders globally - thereby bringing an unprecedented form of uniformity to the traditionally fragmented industry. ESIC also understands that participant education is the best deterrent to corruption and ESIC officials and delegates provide a comprehensive education programme for members and participants that consists of face to face presentations, an online interactive tutorial and printed materials, text and email alerts and updates. If you are interested in learning more about ESIC, contact us today.

The International Games and Esports Tribunal (IGET) is pleased to note the publication of its first arbitral award. The award in Tuvshintugs Nyamdorj a/k/a “Annihilation” v. Esports Integrity Commission, IGET Case No. IGETA221025, represents an important institutional milestone for IGET and contributes to the developing body of jurisprudence in esports dispute resolution. The matter concerned disciplinary proceedings arising under esports integrity rules, including issues relating to reporting obligations, the evidentiary assessment of integrity concerns, proportionality of sanctions, and procedural fairness in disciplinary appeals. The Sole Arbitrator upheld the challenged decision and confirmed the 12-month period of ineligibility. As the esports sector continues to mature, the availability of independent, specialised and procedurally robust dispute resolution mechanisms remains essential to supporting confidence in the integrity and governance of the ecosystem. IGET welcomes the publication of this award and its contribution to transparency, accountability and the continued development of esports jurisprudence. As the esports industry continues to grow and professionalise, clear contractual and governance frameworks are essential. Well-structured agreements between teams, players, streamers, content creators, and commercial partners play a critical role in defining: ✔️ Ownership of digital content ✔️ Scope of usage and monetisation rights ✔️ Responsibilities of sponsors and partners ✔️ Compliance with platform and copyright rules These frameworks help prevent disputes, reduce informal appropriation of value, and create certainty for all actors involved. More importantly, they support trust, investment, and long-term sustainability in the esports economy. At IGET, we view contractual clarity and intellectual property governance as foundational to the development of a credible and well-governed esports ecosystem, particularly as the industry expands across borders and platforms. This is why the IGET Rules cover general provisions, integrity-focused arbitration and mediation, as well as commercial dispute resolution mechanisms.
