The hidden cost of large-scale esports tournaments isnt to be taken lightly. From the outside, tournaments look like gameplay and broadcasts. From the inside, they are: 🔸️ Admin bandwidth 🔸️ Dispute resolution 🔸️ Scheduling complexity 🔸️ Platform risk management 🔸️ Human coordination at scale These costs rarely appear in budgets. But they appear in execution stress. What breaks tournaments isn’t lack of funding,it’s underestimating operational load. At scale, proper planning is not optional. It’s survival.

🎮 A bill aimed at modernizing esports regulation was proposed by the French legislator in November. It includes in particular articles authorizing paid online esports competitions with financial gain. To date, only competitions with the physical presence of participants have been authorized. It also contains various additional measures concerning players contracts, agents and events security. The text is still in draft form and will probably not be examined before 2026. This could be another wasted effort on the part of the legislator. But this would be a major change for the sector if adopted.
