Our flagship reception of 2026 was held at one of the most iconic buildings in the world with 150 global leaders from companies such as LADbible, CityFibre, The Cheeky Panda, Skinnydip London, Cheil UK, Brainomix, Outernet and Rosa's Thai. Lord Karan Bilimoria CBE, DL opened and closed the day, and his closing words were a reminder of the strength and ambition that still sits inside this country: a place where, whatever the media tells you, people can still build, and stand among the best in the world. Thank you for reminding us what this country is still capable of. No caption could ever capture the electricity in that room or the calibre of the conversation on that stage. But here is our attempt at a few of the moments that stayed with us. A single thread ran through every session. The world is moving faster than this country is keeping up with. Vishen Lakhiani of Mindvalley showed us how fast. AI will know us better than our best friend within seven days, he told us, and within a year it will be whispering in our ears through bone conduction, nudging us towards becoming smarter, kinder versions of ourselves.  Dominic McGregor of Fearless Adventures showed us what that speed means for the founders building today. Your competitor is no longer months behind you. They are hours behind you, sometimes minutes. Technology is no longer the moat. Brand, story, reputation and distribution are. Greg Mesch of CityFibre showed us what happens to a country that does not keep up. He put it in five words. "Math is math is math." One percent growth, three percent inflation, dead in ten years. Lord John Bird MBE of The Big Issue showed us what that maths is already doing to people. 40% of what the government receives is spent maintaining poverty rather than ending it. He called once again for a Ministry of Poverty Prevention. And yet through all of it, founders are still building. Nohman S Ahmed of Crep Protect spent eighteen months personally cleaning shoes at sneaker conventions before a single retailer would stock him, and built a global brand on the discipline of being the master of that one category.  If the world is moving faster than ever, the only way to catch up is to back the people who will be its future. Anmol Goel of Gacsym Ventures asked the room how many of us had a board director under thirty. 2 hands went up out of 150. The next generation is hungrier than we give them credit for. The question is whether we will back them in time. ajaz ahmed MBE of Studio. One opened the dinner that followed, and reminded us why this community is worth fighting for. What this day reminded us is something this community already knows. Britain still produces some of the most ambitious, creative, hard-working founders in the world. The room proved it. The job now is to make sure the country they built it in does not get in their way.  #E2EScaleUpSummit #E2ECommunity #UKEntrepreneurs #ScaleUpUK #BritishBusiness #FounderCommunity #UKBusiness
