📢Supporting CCUS delivery across the UK and Europe Today, we have published our Annual Review 2025-26, highlighting key developments across the sector and the role of the CCSA in supporting delivery. 🔎Over the past financial year, we have worked at the centre of CCUS development across the UK and Europe. We have helped shaped policy, engaged parliamentarians and convened industry to help move projects forward, support continued development and unlock progress at scale. The report highlights the continued growth of the CCSA, now representing 124 members across the full CCUS value chain, including 15 new members joining during the financial year. 🗨️CEO Olivia Powis said, “I’m encouraged by the major milestones achieved across the UK and Europe. The CCSA has worked hard to help deliver this. As ever, there’s more to do this year and we’re working closely with industry and governments to keep up momentum and turn progress into real, large-scale delivery.” 📊See below for a snapshot of the scale and reach of CCSA activity across FY 2025–26. 📄Read the full Annual Review here: https://lnkd.in/e9BvgU9i 👉If you’re interested in learning more about CCSA membership, do get in touch via membership@ccsassociation.orga #CCUS | #CarbonCapture | #NetZero

💡 A valuable contribution from CCSA member Energex, through Energex CCS, highlighting how insurance innovation can help address risk and support faster CCS deployment. #CCUS | #CarbonCapture | #NetZero
The rapid deployment of carbon capture and storage (CCS) is essential to achieving global decarbonisation goals, but its value chain brings complex risks. From emitters to transport and storage, the CCS value chain introduces a unique set of technical, commercial and regulatory challenges – amplified by cross-border operations, complex ownership structures and the nascent nature of the industry. In our latest article, and the first in a series of joint papers with Howden, we explore why insurance will play a vital role in enabling CCS, and why new, innovative solutions are needed now. 📢Strong progress from the East Coast Cluster as construction advances New figures from Net Zero Teesside Power and the Northern Endurance Partnership show that £1.5bn in UK supply chain contracts have now been awarded - including £500m since Q3 2025 - with over 230 sub-contracts awarded to UK companies. 👷♂️This is translating into real economic activity across the country, with contractors on track to deliver 50%+ UK content while creating and supporting around 3,000 jobs. From Teesside-based firms to suppliers across the UK, businesses are securing work, building capability and supporting the delivery of first-of-a-kind CCUS infrastructure. 🏗️As construction ramps up, this is a clear example of how CCUS is driving investment, supporting jobs and strengthening UK industry. Maintaining momentum across all CCUS projects will be critical to ensure we capture the full economic, industrial and decarbonisation benefits. 📃 Read Net Zero Teesside Power's press release here: https://lnkd.in/eak7AXaj #CCUS | #NetZero | #EnergyTransition

🇧🇪🇳🇴 Yesterday, Belgium and Norway signed an agreement enabling cross-border CO₂ transport! 🏭 By connecting Belgian industry to Norway's storage capacity, this agreement is a significant step closer to scalable and cost-effective CCUS solutions for industrial decarbonisation, turning climate ambition into action. 👥 The proposed CO₂ pipeline and terminal in Belgium has the potential to become a critical piece of cross-border infrastructure, enabling emissions reductions not only in the country but across Europe. 🤝 The CCSA believes that cross-border cooperation is key in decarbonising European industry while enhancing our competitiveness. Agreements like this are essential to build a truly European CCUS value chain. Read more here 👉 https://lnkd.in/enQxJjJy #NetZero | #CCUS | #CarbonCapture

🇪🇺📢 Welcome to the CCSA Europe Market Study Thursday! Every Thursday at 14:00 CET, we will share one key insight of our recently published study - developed in collaboration with Deloitte. CCUS is often presented as a key pillar of Europe’s decarbonisation strategy. However, its success depends on something fundamental: de-risking the entire value chain. 🔎 Our latest report explores the CCUS risk landscape in Europe and why addressing these risks is essential for projects to reach Final Investment Decision. CCUS projects are highly interdependent: capture, transport, and storage must progress in parallel. Delays in one segment can jeopardise the entire value chain. The report outlines practical mitigation levers to unlock early investment, including: 🔹 stronger EU regulatory clarity and demand-pull mechanisms, such as public procurement for low-carbon products 🔹 financial de-risking tools, such as Carbon Contracts for Difference 🔹 coordinated EU–Member State interventions 🔹 industry-led standardisation and risk-sharing mechanisms Ultimately, no single actor can solve this alone. Governments, industry, and financiers must work together to reduce uncertainty and enable a scalable CCUS ecosystem in Europe. Our report proposes a phased pathway (Phases 0–3), with 10 priority actions to move from early government-led support to a mature market. 📝 Read more in the report 👉 https://lnkd.in/eq7vVBsG #NetZero | #CCUS | #CarbonCapture | #CCSAEuropeMarketThursday
