It is 30 degrees in the UK and we could not have asked for better weather as we enter the season of salads + picky bits (FINALLY!) We've just launched our salad campaign. Salads built around BEANS - not leaves. Full plates. Loads of fibre. Genuinely satisfying + genuinely delicious. Our bean salad cheat sheet already has over 1,000 saves on Instagram. That kind of engagement tells you people are actually going home and making it - not just scrolling past. And it makes sense. Beans in a salad change everything. They carry FLAVOUR, add substance + turn what could be a sad plate of leaves into something worth getting excited about. Don’t believe us? Check out these BANGING recipes on our website: - Loaded chipotle chicken, black bean + avocado salad with a zingy lime dressing - Speedy Greek-Ish butter bean salad - Loaded satay chickpea + charred greens Salad And then tell us you aren't salivating… Link in the comments!

About us
Bold Bean Co was launched in 2021 by Amelia Christie-Miller with the aim of creating a culture of bean obsessives. Beans, by every metric, are the worlds best food. But for too long - they've been side-dished. We're here to change that.

"Help!! Where can I get your borlotti beans? Can't find them anywhere!” We get messages like this A LOT. And until now, our answer was: find them on our website + your local deli (shoutout to EVERY independent on the high street - please keep supporting them, always)! But not everyone has a great deli nearby. And sometimes you just need beans and you need them fast. SO thankfully… Queen Borlotti Beans have now landed on Ocado Retail (WOOP WOOP). These are one of the most beloved beans in our range. A true CLASSIC. Buttery. Creamy. And the hero of one of the greatest pasta dishes ever made: pasta e fagioli. Also, of course, incredible straight from the jar. We're SO happy more people can get their hands on them now without the hunt. If you've been looking for them OR you've never tried a borlotti bean in your life - now is your moment! Link in comments 👇

Some of our best performing content on Instagram might surprise you. It isn't always a sexy recipe reel, an exciting announcement or team update. But rather, simply us answering one of our frequently asked questions. We get messages about the dark spots on our baked bean lids all the time. “Are my baked beans safe to eat?!” “What are the dark marks?” "Is this mould?!" We genuinely love questions like this as it gives us the PERFECT opportunity for some storytelling. Every recurring question we hear gets fed back to the team as an insight - shaping everything from the labels we design, to the content we create, to the recipes we develop. The questions customers ask most are almost ALWAYS the ones worth answering loudly and publicly. Because if one person is asking, hundreds more are probably wondering. (Shoutout to Marly Zemsta for creating this EPIC reel!) 📸

Bold Bean Co | B Corp™ reposted this
I was proud to get to the final round for a mat cover role at Bold Bean Co | B Corp™ . I didn’t get it (🎻) but within 48 hours of emailing me, just look at all the bloomin’ beans that got sent to my house. Just to say thank you for my time, and for taking part in the process. Part of why I wanted to work there was the culture and this just seals it. To treat someone who didn’t even get the job this well - I was blown away. And a little note as well 🥹 I’d rank “how you treat people in interviews” the same way people do “how people interviewing treat the receptionist”. It’s all the behaviours people and companies don’t think will ever surface (because normally, people probably aren’t quite as open as me about not getting jobs 🤷🏼♀️). And the fact the team did this, with zero assumption I’d share it, says it all. Did make it a touch more heartbreaking to not get the role as gah, just look how lush that culture clearly is. But for a runners up prize, this will absolutely do me 🫘 ♥️

When your team is spread across Europe, getting everyone in the same place is rare. So when it happens, you make it count. Last week, the Bold Bean Co team headed to Barcelona, now Amelia Christie-Miller and Ed Whelpton's home turf, for a few days of strategy sessions + quality time together - BRILLIANTLY planned as ever by Nakira Bozickovic. We had some incredible team dinners (shout out to Bērytī - a cosy female founded spot serving DELICIOUS Lebanese food and an absolute must if you're in Barcelona!), an al fresco pizza lunch in the sunshine, a sunrise beach yoga session followed by a breakfast banquet fit for kings (or QUEENS if you will 😉 ) + if that wasn't enough to get our daily step count up, a rather competitive game of Padel! The SLT also presented their reflections on the quarter and unpacked some exciting things ahead. The kind of sessions you leave feeling genuinely fired up about. We LOVE being remote first. But getting the whole team together IRL is something we always look forward to. Here is to our next one!

In March, the Bold Bean Co team headed to Alimentaria in Barcelona - one of the biggest food and drink trade shows in the world! With open minds and no agenda, we were looking for new flavours, exciting formats, packaging that makes you stop and stare, and people doing brilliant things with food. And we found all of it. One of the most important things you can do as a food brand is spend time outside of your own world. Get curious. Talk to people. See what others are doing and let it spark something. And not to forget the oodles of olive oil sampling (we were in Spain, it would have been rude not to!). With Martha Jensen in Edinburgh, Ed Whelpton and Amelia Christie-Miller in Barcelona, and Rosa Hernández in Valencia, getting the whole team in the same place is SO rare - so it was a really special few days.

Last month The Telegraph published a piece on pantries being back in fashion, and we got a mention. "You only need to look at a can of Perello olives or a jar of Bold Beans to see that pantry basics don't have to be boring. They can be the star of the show." This is SO important because when pantry items become cool, they become giftable and this means they unlock our favourite thing… TRIAL. We know that once someone tries our beans they are well and truly on the road to bean obsession, so for us, they quite literally become the gift that keeps on giving. Countless studies have shown that when a friend or family member recommends something, a person is SO MUCH MORE LIKELY to try it. So sexy packaging isn’t just about looking good on a pantry shelf. It’s about driving bean obsession. Johanna Derry Hall thank you for the epic feature!

98% of the baked bean category is beans in a tomato sauce, yet our best seller is Smoky Chilli. What this tells us is that people are HUNGRY for exciting new flavours. Classic tomato is classic for a reason - it's much-loved, adaptable (you can have it with so many things) and nostalgic. But it leaves space for innovation that makes your mouth water and stops you mid-shop thinking "I HAVE to try that". Enter: MASALA BAKED BEANS. Creamy and delicious white beans in a rich masala sauce with freshly ground spices like cumin, coriander + cayenne pepper, finished with a hint of mango puree for a subtle sweetness. Perfect served over toasted sourdough and topped with a good grating of cheddar cheese and slivers of green chilli. You can find it on Ocado Retail and via our webshop, but we want you to try it NOW! SO to celebrate the launch, we're also going to send 10 offices Masala Baked Beans to try!! Want in? Click the link in the comments below, fill in your details, and we'll email our winners by Friday 1st May.

Farmer J just got a whole lot beanier. Our Queen Butter beans have just landed across 18 Farmer J sites in 3 dishes. MEGA! As a remote-first business, our Tuesday office days for the team in London are an incredible chance to spend time together. And almost without fail, 12:30pm means one thing = Farmer J (we all have our go-to order). So the fact that our Queen Butter Beans are now officially on their menu feels a little bit surreal, and VERY exciting! You can find them in the: 🫘 Butter Bean, Avo + Feta double egg pot 🫘 Tomato, Butter Bean + Fennel Salad 🫘 Chunky Butter Bean Hummus Farmer J is obsessed with quality (in the same way we are about beans). Every dish is cooked from scratch + every ingredient is chosen with intention. Which is exactly why our Queen Butter Beans belong there. If you’re close to a Farmer J, PLEASE go and try them and let us know what you think!
