When Karen Blackett CBE sat down for an honest conversation with Detria Williamson about the power of storytelling in the AI era, she didn’t hold back. From her early days as a planner, there was no mobile phones, no email, just traditional media planning to think about. With today’s AI-driven landscape, Karen reminded us just how dramatically the world has shifted. And more importantly: what hasn’t changed. Karen broke down why AI isn’t the enemy of creativity, but a catalyst for going deeper, faster and with more cultural intelligence. The best brand stories will always start with real people and real insight. She spoke about the power of human prompts, the irreplaceable value of real consumer insight, and why the future belongs to teams who can bridge engineering with imagination. She didn’t shy away from the tough questions either from deepfakes to governance, from workforce transformation to whether agencies are moving fast enough. But through it all, her optimism held firm.
