Through open conversations, shared stories, and meaningful reflection, we saw our culture in action across the business. Most automation programmes start with a list of tests to automate. That's usually the first mistake. When Synertec Ltd set out to modernise their quality approach, the question wasn't "what can we automate?" It was "what's actually slowing delivery down, and will it still work when our teams need to own it?" That distinction matters. Automation that's technically impressive but impossible for testers to maintain doesn't scale. It just relocates the bottleneck. Working across four phases: web applications, desktop systems, a major cloud migration, and ongoing new development - the focus throughout was on building something Synertec's own team could run, extend, and grow. Not dependency. Capability. At the Oracle AI World Tour yesterday, we spent time speaking with organisations running Oracle programmes and asked a simple question: what's top of the agenda right now? The conversations closely reflected what we're seeing across our own client programmes. Three themes came up again and again: - 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀 - without losing control of what's actually changing underneath - 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 - making changes across connected systems without unintended impact - 𝗚𝗼-𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 - giving leadership a clear, honest view of readiness at the moments that matter What stood out is where organisations are focusing their efforts - building coverage around the business processes that matter most. Order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and the critical flows every release depends on. This is where we see organisations start to bring control, pace and assurance together, testing change more intelligently and gaining a clearer view of how their systems perform in practice. Agentic AI is starting to play a role here too, helping teams generate tests faster, extend coverage, and keep pace with Oracle's release cycles without simply scaling team size. GDPR fines hit €1.2 billion in 2025 alone. Enforcement isn't slowing down. Most teams think they've already solved this. They anonymise test data, mark it compliant, and move on. But a 2019 study found that 99.98% of people could be re-identified from "anonymised" datasets using just 15 demographic attributes. The ICO is clear: the burden of proof sits with you and it resets every time that data is used, refreshed, or combined. The teams getting this right have stopped trying to anonymise production data altogether. They're testing with confidence, moving faster, and removing compliance risk from the equation entirely.
