Isn't this basically how Google works? Changes are committed directly to trunk as CLs (reviewed and tested before landing), using Blaze (Bazel) to speed up the CI. Before AI, we didn't need to scale internal workflows like Google, but now with AI, we really need to learn how

A few more thoughts on this: You still need CI. Instead of a merge queue, your untested stack of commits in trunk becomes a queue that gets tested in batches. Good batches mark safe deployment snapshots. Bad batches will get bisected and reverted automatically.

Next question: why are you still using branches? We talked about PRs. I don't think they make sense anymore, if you rethink them from first principles. Yes, if you only use them to trigger CI, then sure, go ahead. That's a fat commit, not a PR. But for mandatory code review?

So basically, Windows needs to become free, or AI agent companies won’t be able to spin up Windows sandboxes and VMs for testing at scale without breaking the bank?

Back in 2004, the developers of Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal patched their game(which had no patch system) by hack their own game with a EULA buffer overflow.

if this PHP vulnerability allows remote code execution, doesn't that mean we can use the vulnerability to auto-patch all vulnerable servers?

AI has solved Bazel’s biggest problem: the learning curve.

Bazel isn’t glamorous. You’d have to hold a gun to my head to make me use it pre AI. But my god, when the entirety of my interaction with setting it up was “use Bazel” and a week later “add remote workers for distributed compile” It’s phenomenal.
