“Warrior” is set in a world much like Earth in many ways. The sun, moon, year and moon cycles are very similar to earth. Temperate areas of the world enjoy the same cycle of seasons as we are familiar with. The area that is covered in “Warrior” includes the following areas:
Dwon Forest – This is the home of the Dwon, a forest-dwelling stone-age people with several villages situated along the Fedon River and other rivers that cut through the forest. The forest is a temperate rainforest, much like the Northwest coast of North America. Huge redwood trees crowd the banks of the rivers, and mighty oaks dominate the interior. Other trees and plants fight for space amongst the oaks and redwoods and the result is an explosion of lush greenery that includes a vibrant and varied population of plants and animals. Rain is frequent during the Spring and Summer, snow can be heavy in Winter.
Luh-Yi – Dwon village located deep in the vastness of the Dwon Forest, along the banks of the Fedon River. Luh-Yi is the home of most of the characters in the story and has been a Dwon village for time beyond reckoning. Simple farming and raising of goats provides food along with plenty of meat brought in to the village by Luh-Yi’s many hunters.
Red Desert – A scarred and desolate landscape to the north of the Dwon forest. Most Dwon know little about the land, and few travel there.
Haguille Mountains – The spine of the continent, these mountains dominate the western edge of the Dwon Forest and extend far to the north and south. The mountains include a large alpine valley between mountain ranges that can be reached by climbing over “The Gap” from the Dwon Forest. The Gap is a saddle between towering peaks that is visible for hundreds of miles to the east.
Hanorian Plains – South of the Dwon Forest, separated by the massive “Great Wall of Hanoria”, the Hanorian Plains extend far to the south and include the nation of Hanoria as well as several smaller nations further south. Most Dwon have only vague knowledge of the Great Wall, and virtually no idea of what lies beyond it.
Hanor – Capital city of Hanoria. A huge walled city with great white towers and gates, Hanoria is an imposing sight. Most roads in Hanoria meet at Hanor.
Dragon Sea – The eastern edge of the continent is pounded by the waves of the Dragon Sea. There are lands across the Dragon Sea, but they are lost to myth and legend. Rare is the person who has traveled across that sea and returned. All that is generally known about those lands is that great malevolent armies periodically sail forth from the east to invade and attempt to conquer the lands on the western continent. Tales speak of great beasts and strange creatures that fight alongside those armies.
The Great Wall – A massive construction of solid white granite blocks, extending from the Haguille Mountains in the west to the Dragon Sea in the east, the wall was built and is maintained by the nation of Hanoria and separates the Hanorian Plains from the Dwon Forest. The Wall has gates along its length, but they are few and far between. Thirty feet thick and fifty feet high, it presents an imposing barrier to any travel. The top is constantly patrolled by the Hanorian Wall Guardians.
