As part of our ongoing commitment to underserved patient communities, DKSH Business Unit Healthcare continues to support efforts to expand access to treatment and medical innovation for rare diseases, including XLH. Together with the Thai Society for Pediatric Endocrinology, the Thai Rare Disease Foundation, and the XLH Community, DKSH Thailand is raising awareness of X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH), a rare genetic bone disorder caused by low phosphate levels that can lead to skeletal deformities, impaired growth, and chronic pain. This is why we continue to invest in R&D, and we are proud to expand our collaboration with Thammasat University Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine through an MOU on clinical trials focused on cardiometabolic care. Earlier this year, we deepened our partnership to support Thammasat University Hospital in treating obesity and diabetes. This MOU is timely: cardiometabolic diseases are rising threats in Thailand, with an obesity prevalence of around 45% and a diabetes rate approaching 11%. These conditions not only strain the healthcare budget but also impose wider economic burdens. The MOU will facilitate clinical trials aimed at identifying more effective treatments and interventions for patients facing these serious health challenges.
