Thank you, but there is no problem with installing Windows to a USB drive, Rufus can unlock that option. I would still like to fix this installation I already have.
@TomYan: thanks for confirming this is normal. Probably my memory is wrong and I'm remembering cases when I installed Windows to the USB drive directly, rather than switching after the fact.
@Ramhound: There are no "both disks", it's literally the same disk, only installed internally vs. a USB-SATA adapter. Which software should I view the table with?
Windows 11, setting to Offline does nothing. Revosleep works!! Just don't check the "Deactivate" checkbox, it makes it wake up again 30 sec after spinning down.
@JW0914: that is a very interesting thing and I never knew such an option exists. Thanks, might come in handy. Unfortunately, in my case the installer only runs for some 10-15 seconds as says "having trouble determining if your PC can run Windows 10".
@JW0914 Thanks, will try. As I said, this system fails to update, it gets stuck in a loop and eventually updates get reverted (kudos to MS for actually implementing rollback and leaving the system in a functional state). But forced automatic updates are are as much a problem as they are an improvement. Updates that make your system slower or bloated are a problem.
