Sandisk surges after report indicating company could double price of #3DNAND for enterprise #SSDs Sandisk could double the price of its high-capacity 3D #NAND #memory devices for #enterprise-grade solid-state drives this quarter, anticipating strong demand for server-class #storage in the coming quarters, Tom's Hardware reported, citing Nomura Securities. It is not clear to what extent the price increase of high-capacity 3D NAND will affect quotes on mainstream #flashmemory used in client devices, the report added. #Sandisk did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Seeking Alpha. Channel checks indicate that several memory suppliers continued to push prices higher, with enterprise-grade #NAND facing especially aggressive increases," the analysts noted. "SanDisk’s NAND used in enterprise SSDs is cited as potentially rising by more than 100% quarter over quarter in the March period." Nomura thinks that the plans of #memory suppliers to raise prices of enterprise-grade 3D NAND both to short-term shortages and to mid-term growth of demand, driven by #AI in general and changes to #AI #storage in particular, according to the report. Nomura names #Nvidias Inference Context Memory Storage Platform, or ICMSP, which is based on the BlueField-4 DPU equipped with a 512 GB SSD that carries KV cache, among the demand drivers for enterprise storage this year, the report noted. Shares of SanDisk jumped about 11% on Friday, while stocks of other #memory product makers also surged. #Micron rose 4%, #Seagate surged nearly 5%, while #WesternDigital climbed around 3%. Nintendo aims to sell 15m Switch 2 units this fiscal year Japanese #gaming giant expects 13% operating profit lift with new console #Nintendo expects to sell units 15 million of its new #Switch2 console, which would push up operating profits by 13% to 320 billion yen ($2.2bn) in the financial year ending March 2026. The Japanese gaming giant's sales projection for the Switch 2, which will be launched on June 5, came in below many analysts' expectations, in a sign of uncertainty about the potential impact of tariffs. Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa said the forecast incorporated an estimate that profits would be hit by "several tens of billions of yen" by the tariffs imposed in April -- assuming they remain throughout the fiscal year. Our Singapore team has reached a milestone! Since September last year, we've worked with ITE College East to train over 200 students as certified technicians. They're learning device maintenance, cybersecurity and laptop refurbishment – skills that extend technology lifecycles and reduce waste. What I like about this programme is how it addresses challenges we're seeing across the region. Different markets are at varying stages of developing circular economy capabilities, but the fundamentals remain the same: we need skilled individuals who understand both technology and sustainability. Singapore's leading the way here, but the model is replicable. Students gain marketable skills. Businesses get trained technicians. Communities build toward their environmental goals.
