    Today, we honour the legacy of Howard Ruby – founder of the Oakwood brand, pioneer of corporate housing and a visionary leader in the multifamily sector. From developing apartments in 1960s California to building a global brand trusted by Fortune 500 companies and government agencies, Howard's foresight shaped an industry. Since joining The Ascott Limited's portfolio in 2022, the Oakwood brand has grown further – a testament to Howard’s enduring vision of a customer-centric, innovative brand. We are proud to carry forward his legacy. Rest in peace, Howard.

  • When hospitality and football come together, giving back goes further. The Ascott Limited and Chelsea Football Club aren’t just teaming up to delight fans and guests, we’re using our shared platform to uplift local communities.   In line with The Famous CFC's cornerstone of giving back to local communities, the Bangkok edition kicked off with a visit by Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola to the Hub Saidek, a drop-in centre for street children operated by Childline Thailand Foundation and supported by Safe Child Thailand. Safe Child Thailand, a UK-registered charity, collaborates with a network of local charities and non-profit organisations to support the disadvantaged communities of Thailand.    The children and young people who use the Hub Saidek’s facilities were treated to a fun morning of football and a mini-tournament at an urban pitch in Bangkok.   • The Ascott Limited celebrated a weekend of The Blues in Bangkok, Thailand, as host of the fourth and final stop of The Famous CFC tour for the 2024/25 season - Chelsea Football Club's international fan engagement event. As Chelsea's Official Global Hotels Partner, Ascott played a key role in bringing this thrilling event to life, delivering exceptional experiences for both Chelsea fans and Ascott Star Rewards (ASR) members.   • Growing beyond our origins in serviced residences, The Ascott Limited has been expanding across new geographies and typologies including hotels, resorts, serviced residences, social living spaces and more. Supported by our multi-typology strategy, our namesake Ascott brand has seen an accelerated growth over the past 16 months, with 11 signings spanning more than 2,300 units. Three of the signings were added within just the first four months of this year in the Philippines, Singapore and China.   Taking our brand signatures into even more spaces, 𝗔𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘂 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵𝗶 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗴 was signed as the Ascott brand's first branded residence. Over in Singapore, the newly-signed 𝗔𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲 is slated to be the brand's second Ascott property within the central business district in Singapore - reinforcing the brand's dominance in the central business districts of gateway cities around the world. 𝗔𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁 𝗢𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮 is also set to mark a strategic addition in the heart of Metro Manila’s Ortigas business district in the Philippines following an upcoming renovation project.   Exciting projects to look out for include Ascott's first all-villa hotel, 𝗔𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘀 𝗥𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗱𝗵, in Saudi Arabia come July 2025. Over in Vietnam, the iconic 𝗔𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁 𝗧𝗮𝘆 𝗛𝗼 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗶 is set to host meetings and events ahead of its grand opening in 2026. Located by the iconic West Lake in Hanoi’s Tay Ho District, the venue features The Sense Tay Ho Convention Centre, which will offer 14 flexible event spaces, including the city’s largest pillarless hotel Grand Ballroom, with a capacity for 2,000 guests.
