#APSACONF2024 5th Annual Conference held in Livingstone, Zambia organized jointly by #PIA of Zambia discussed topical issues relevant to the continent from challenges of low pension coverage, impacts of climate change, continental demographic shifts, alternative investments and micro-pensions amongst others, leaving membership and expertise of the pension sector with a rich menu of possibilities in terms of addressing the downsides of each. As the Head of the Secretariat, I was thrilled to be part of the organizing committee and to moderate a session on 'Mitigating longevity risk amidst rapid demographic change in the continent.' Additionally, I had the privilege of being a panelist discussing 'Micro-pensions as a solution to coverage challenges for the forgotten middle-informal sector,' alongside global industry experts, pension supervisors, and thought leaders.
