May the blessings of Good Friday fill the hearts of those who celebrate with peace and love.
About us
New Life Stories was established in 2014 to prevent intergenerational incarceration. New Life Stories is an IPC (Institution of Public Character) non-profit organisation that aims to provide children of incarcerated parents with essential reading and pro-social skills to ensure that they are not left behind in their crucial early years of development. New Life Stories has put in place a holistic strategy targeted at providing support to children of the incarcerated and their families. The programmes aim to provide these children with educational and emotional stability so that they can have a fairer start in school. Their parents are also supported by our customised in-prison programmes to prepare them for their release and to give them the reassurance to successfully reintegrate back into society. New Life Stories also educates and guides the families by providing them with essential tools to be self-sufficient.

We are thankful to be signing a new long term partnership with Rotary Club of Singapore. This partnership kicked off with our families joining them at their recently held Hari Raya celebration at Singapore Flyer. They were able to set up booths and sell their products to raise funds as well as enjoy a stunning performance by students from PPI Singapura. A special thank you to Raj Kumar for reaching out and bringing this partnership to life and Rotary Club President, Tom Wolf for your support to our cause. We look forward to more fruitful collaborations and sparking more positivity in our community and beyond together.

Strengthening Support for Post-Incarcerated Fathers: A Collaborative Roundtable Discussion. This morning, at the heart of The Foundry, four non-profit organizations—BapaHebat SG, New Life Stories, Tasek Academy and Social Services, and Fitrah—came together for a critical roundtable discussion. Facilitated by Dr. Shamsuri Juhari of Nusantara Connect, the session focused on a vital research initiative aimed at improving reintegration support for post-incarcerated fathers. The discussion revolved around key expected outcomes, including gaining a deeper understanding of resilience mechanisms, identifying gaps in existing support structures, and developing community-driven recommendations. Participants also explored quantitative insights into support effectiveness and strategized on an actionable framework to enhance community-based reintegration programs. This collaborative effort marks an important step in strengthening the ecosystem of support for fathers striving to rebuild their lives and reconnect with their families. By pooling expertise and resources, these organizations reaffirmed their commitment to driving meaningful change and fostering stronger, more resilient communities. #BapaHebatSG #EmpoweringFathers #StrongerFamilies

At New Life Stories, family is at the heart of everything we do. And this Chinese New Year, we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than by bringing our families together to ring in the new year with good food and good company. On 8th February, we hosted our NLS Family Carnival 2025 and we were deeply honored to have Mdm Halimah Yacob as our Guest-of-Honour, a leader who has long championed second chances and the power of family. From tossing wishes of prosperity into the Year of the Snake and the toys-tossing Lion Dance, the excitement and energy that day was truly infectious. But what made it truly special was how Mdm Halimah took the time to personally chat with each of our families and individual children. She listened to their personal stories, shared words of encouragement, and reminded us why our mission matters. Her presence reminded me that when we uplift families, we strengthen entire communities because every parent deserves support, and every child deserves a fair start to their lives. As we continue celebrating our 10th anniversary, this event was a beautiful reminder of how far we’ve come. Not just as an organization, but as a family of individuals who uplift other families. To our families, befriender volunteers and partner, ST Logistics, — thank you for being part of this Family Day celebration. Wishing everyone a prosperous and meaningful Year of the Snake! 🐍
