Adj Professor Liang Piu Koh, Senior Consultant, Department of Haematology-Oncology, NCIS, highlighted the significant impact of the Haplo-2017 protocol, which has already changed over 100 lives through haploidentical transplants at The Bone Marrow Donor Programme (BMDP)'s Beyond the Perfect Match Symposium in March. Speaking on the future of bone marrow transplantation, Dr Koh also shared that, “Introducing Mismatched Unrelated Donor (MMUD) transplants will further widen access and improve outcomes.” With continuous advancements and collaborative efforts, the expansion into MMUD transplants marks a new chapter in improving the availability and effectiveness of life-saving treatment options for patients in need.
