♟️64 players representing 64 countries and territories have been directly invited to compete in Chess at the inaugural ENC 2026. ⭐ These competitors are the best of the best: Grandmasters from all around the world whose strategy and precision have elevated them to stardom. They’ve proven themselves throughout the official Champions Chess Tour, placing high enough on the official rankings to secure themselves a direct invite to Chess at ENC 2026. 🏆 At the top is EWC 2025 Champion and world No.1 Magnus Carlsen, who will represent his home country of Norway. He is a multi-time World champion and has held the number one ranking for more than a decade, but only one accolade remains to be earned: First place for his home country of Norway.  🌍 Joining Carlsen are some of his greatest rivals; competitors that will seek to deny him and Norway the top spot at ENC 2026, including his EWC 2025 grand final opponent Alireza Firouzja (France), his semifinal opponent Hikaru Nakamura (United States), and his quarterfinal opponent Nodirbek Abdusattorov (Uzbekistan). Amongst the highest-ranked competitors not mentioned are a handful of elite Grandmasters that have successfully qualified for Chess tournaments at the EWC, as well as the ENC: Jan-Krzysztof Duda (Poland), Nihal Sarin (India) and Ian Nepomniachtchi (Russia). Joining them are Alexandra Kosteniuk (Switzerland) and Mai Narva (Estonia), the first women to officially qualify for the ENC 2026 Finals. 🛣️ The invited players revealed today make up half of the field of 128 competitors that will participate in Chess at ENC 2026. Sixty-one players will qualify through regional events taking place on June 6-7 and June 13-14, all organized by Chess.com and all featuring open sign-ups to enable any player with enough skill and tactical thinking to forge their own pathway to the ENC. 📅 The Chess tournament at ENC 2026 will begin on November 2 and conclude with the playoff final on November 8. We can’t wait to watch the best of the best compete in Chess at the ENC this November in Riyadh. #EsportsNationsCup #ENC2026 #Chess #Riyadh

🚀 ENC 2026 opens global qualification pathway, with over 100,000 Players from 150+ countries and territories expected to participate across the 16 games 🏆 Designed to reflect the structure of each game ecosystem, the Road to ENC combines multiple qualification models and is supported by the ENC Rankings, which track player performances across major international competitions to determine national standings and direct invitations to the ENC Finals. 🎮 Team Coaches across Dota 2, Honor of Kings, League of Legends, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, PUBG: Battlegrounds, PUBG MOBILE, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League and VALORANT submitted rosters by May 10. These line-ups will determine each country’s or territory’s points in the ENC Rankings and direct invitations following each title’s ranking cutoff date, with all remaining teams advancing through regional qualifiers. ⚔️ In Counter-Strike 2 and Apex Legends, players will form their own rosters and qualify through open online competition, with the top-performing teams earning the right to compete at ENC. 🥊 Street Fighter 6 will be played in a team format and qualification will take place through solo competition to maximise accessibility, with winning players securing qualification for both themselves and their country or territory. Remaining roster spots will then be filled by the highest-ranked players in the ENC Rankings. ♟️ Chess, EA SPORTS FC, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and Trackmania will combine ranking-based invites with open qualifiers, creating direct pathways to the ENC Finals for tens of thousands of players. Open qualification allows unlimited players from every country and territory to compete for up to two national spots at the Finals in Riyadh. “The Road to ENC is designed to reflect how esports actually operates globally,” said Fabian Scheuermann, Chief Games Officer at the Esports Foundation. “Different games, regions and communities require different qualification models, whether through direct national team selection by country and territory, open qualifiers or player-built rosters. Bringing those systems together into one international structure is what allows the ENC to create the broadest possible competitive footprint for esports.” 🌍 By bringing together national team partners, publishers, coaches, players and local ecosystems into a unified competition structure, the Road to ENC establishes a recurring global qualification season for international esports competition, creating long-term pathways for players to participate on the world stage.  Electronic Arts (EA) Chess.com, Valve corporation, 株式会社SNK(SNK CORPORATION)Tencent Games Riot Games MOONTON GAMES KRAFTON Inc.
