After Hamza Abderrahim's deep dive into threat vectors and their mitigations, attendees jumped into Scale Learning Platform - a specialised sandbox built for AI security drills. The mission? Bypass the guardrails. We saw incredible creativity and even some successful "attacks". Every breach found in this controlled environment is a vulnerability prevented in the real world. We had powerful conversations on human values, ethics, and accountability in AI, including a conversation with Her Excellency Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. We also announced a new partnership with Qatar Foundation focused on advancing AI innovation while keeping human expertise at the center. Through this collaboration, we plan to provide training, capacity-building, and upskilling programs across Qatar Foundation's ecosystem of education, research, and entrepreneurship. The goal: expand Qatar's ability to innovate and nurture the next generation of AI talent.

It was an honor to showcase our use cases and discuss how AI is being applied in meaningful, real-world contexts across Qatar. We were also pleased to have representatives from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Council of Ministers, and Qatar Museums with us on the ground making the conversations even richer. To top it off, we had a full-house masterclass led by Mohamed Shaaban, PhD on Sovereign AI, sparking thoughtful discussion and strong engagement. And this is only Day 2. Attendance for our Applied AI Studio jumped to 80 students as we tackled rapid prototyping. In just 10 minutes, the cohort built and launched functional eCommerce sites - integrated with auth, CMS, and inventory management - proving just how fast the gap between an idea and a product has closed with AI. We also had the honor of being the inaugural guest speakers for the new session series for MSc in AI and Cognitive Cybersecurity. After a deep dive into autonomous vehicle threat vectors with Hamza Abderrahim, students crushed a one-hour sprint to research and present complex mitigations under pressure. Their technical agility and depth were seriously impressive. A huge thank you to the Tasiyiwa Katie Mapondera, ICF PCC, EMCC EIA and Asif M. On the night before our WISE EdTech Accelerator Bootcamp with Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), the conversation felt like a natural bridge between dialogue and implementation led by the WISE Innovation team, Aldana Alsemaitt and Aurélio A. 💻 Scale AI also delivered a session on Intellectual Property & AI Strategy for EdTech for our accelerator cohort - grounding discussion in practical guidance for founders. Thanks to Muhammad Khas ⭐ Thank you Norah Abokhodair, PhD Julia de Boinville Salma A. Dr Asyia K. Elyas Felfoul for the thoughtful exchange and looking forward to continuing this momentum.

Research in compound materials, based on silicon nanowires (Si NWs) and polymers is increasing because of their altered material properties that can be exploited in different applications. Compounds of n-Si NWs and p-type conjugated polymers can be used in hybrid solar cells, while unipolar Si NW – semiconducting polymer compounds can be exploited in thermoelectric energy generations. Research in compound materials, based on silicon nanowires (Si NWs) and polymers is increasing because of their altered material properties that can be exploited in different applications. Compounds of n-Si NWs and p-type conjugated polymers can be used in hybrid solar cells, while unipolar Si NW – semiconducting polymer compounds can be exploited in thermoelectric energy generations. Almost all applications require interfaces to the broader electrical system, usually accomplished through depositing metal contacts on top of the Si NWs. Information on the actual behaviour of these metal contacts is however scarce. In this research, I utilised impedance spectroscopy to electrically characterise the metal contacts deposited on Si NWs and the influence of doping on their behaviour. I also investigated the impact of addition of polymers in the Si NW arrays (NWAs). The study helped enhance the performance of hybrid solar cells and thermoelectric energy generators.
