Imagine a solid sphere B moving uniformly in a straight line and rotating about its axis. The axis of rotation of B and the direction of motion of B are perpendicular to each other. Does this mean that the measured radii of the points on the rotating sphere's surface (except for the poles) must vary periodically (per revolution) due to the varying Lorentz contraction?
