Abstract

Considering elapsed time from the time when a result of retrieval is displayed to the time when a user performs the next action allows for prompt access to presentation information suitable for a user's purpose. In a retrieval system server (1), a system control unit (13) is capable of accessing a retrieval database (21) in which retrieval priority levels are stored in relation to individual web pages, transmits a retrieval result page to a user terminal (4), the retrieval result page showing a retrieval result including the retrieved web pages in the order of priority. After the transmission, the system control unit receives a re-retrieval request or another retrieval result page request, serving as a request to transmit a new retrieval result page, and measures elapsed time t. When the elapsed time t is below a threshold value α, the system control unit reduces the retrieval priority levels of the web pages included in the retrieval result displayed on the user terminal (4), and when the elapsed time t is at or above the threshold value α, increases the retrieval priority levels of the web pages included in the retrieval result displayed on the user terminal (4).
