This week, we welcomed fifty Ukrainian frontline combat medics to Systematic. 🧑⚕️🪖 They are in Denmark for a brief respite from a war that does not pause - part of a mental health recovery programme organised by the NGO Repower. We had invited them to see what we are building with SitaWare Battlefield Health and to help us make it better. They gave us hours of open, generous conversation. Hard-won knowledge from the frontlines, offered without hesitation. Their feedback on what works, what doesn't, and what they need will shape how we develop this system going forward. SitaWare Battlefield Health is built to ensure that health data follows a wounded soldier from point of injury to hospital - replacing paper cards that too often go missing along the way. With Battlefield Health, we combine what we know from building electronic patient records for hospitals and command-and-control systems for defence. The expertise of the Ukrainian medics makes a significant difference to that work. They came to Denmark to recover. And yet they gave us something we could not have found anywhere else. We are deeply grateful. 💙💛 Read more about their visit and the experiences they shared with us: https://lnkd.in/eb7_QJhr

Three years ago, Cicero was a Danish library system. Today it runs in every major Nordic capital. Helsinki just became the latest member of the Cicero community with a EUR 3.6 million contract covering more than 60 library branches and 1.2 million citizens. A lot of it comes down to how the system was built. Cicero is a shared community solution, developed in close collaboration with librarians. When one library gets a new feature, it typically becomes available to all. For Helsinki, though, it wasn't just about the functionality. Trust was a deciding factor: “The choice of Systematic as the supplier of our new library system stems from a desire to invest in data security and the protection of our customers' privacy," says Virva Hiiri, Director of Library Network Services at Helsinki City Library. Across Europe, data security and digital sovereignty are becoming real procurement criteria – not just talking points. Libraries handle data on millions of citizens, and it matters where that data lives and who can access it. Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/ebSuMesu

Imagine buying a Formula 1 car and only using it for running errands or a smartphone only for answering calls... A not-so distant analogy for a challenge facing defence organisations worldwide: we see massive investments in world-class software, and yet, unlocking its full potential remains one of the hardest parts. That is exactly what former Brigadier General Susanne Kiholm Lund is joining us to change. After 38 years in key positions across the Danish Armed Forces, she is taking up the role as Senior Director in our defence business. She brings an impressive combination of competencies and an understanding of military organisations that very few can match, and she is ready to get to work. "It is not enough simply to buy the product and assume that value will follow. You train the users, of course, but far too often we as commanders, staffs and military organisations still think in analogue terms. Staff officers spend time on calculations that AI can handle in seconds. In a time of massive rearmament and rising threats, we cannot afford to leave the potential of the technology untapped," she says. In modern warfare, the ability to make faster and better decisions than the adversary is decisive. Technology is a key enabler – but only if the organisation is equipped to use it. Welcome, Susanne. We are happy to have you onboard! Read more about Susanne here: https://lnkd.in/eZntyzVh

  • This week, our team was at the Paris Defence & Strategy Forum at Académie de défense de l'École militaire Denmark was guest of honour, and the conversations we had went to the heart of what European defence needs to get right: how allies share a common operational picture without surrendering control of their own data. That's not an abstract question for us. The French Army is fielding SitaWare Headquarters across its entire land component, and next month's Exercise ORION 26 will put it to the test at scale for the first time. Emmanuel Chagot, our Director of Business Development for France, shares why this forum, and this moment, matters for European defence cooperation.

Nurses didn't become nurses to document. They became nurses to care. Our colleague Trine Sønstelien knows this from experience. As a nurse in home care services in Norwegian municipalities, she saw first-hand how documentation systems can drain time and attention away from the people who matter most. Now working as a Domain Advisor at Systematic, Trine has written an opinion piece for MedWatch Norge about what's really at stake as nearly 150 Norwegian municipalities procure new electronic care systems – and why these decisions are about far more than IT. They are decisions about working conditions, staff retention and whether care services can hold on to the people who keep them running. 👇 Read the full opinion piece – link in the comments. #HealthcareIT #EPJ #Systematic #DigitalHealth

We don’t think about who holds the keys to the digital services we rely on, until they stop working. In a recent Command and Control podcast, Systematic founder Michael Holm pointed to episodes in Ukraine where commercial providers shut down critical services. This happened during the ongoing war, where access to timely information and intelligence makes the difference between life and death. This goes beyond defence. It is a society issue. At Systematic, this concern shapes how we build software for organisations that run critical operations. The principle is simple: The customers must be able to keep operating, even if circumstances change. They must remain in control. Michael Holm explains it like this: “It’s all yours. It’s your system, your data. We don’t take anything away. If you don’t want us to assist anymore, we just leave it in your hands and don’t take anything with us.” In the conversation, Michael Holm and Dr Peter Roberts also discuss lessons from Ukraine, what speed looks like in practice, the balance between moving fast and making sound decisions, and why platform dependence can become a risk. You can read a blog post here that recaps parts of the discussion: https://lnkd.in/e5tqY_yr And if you are attending the Paris Defence Show later this month – you can catch up with Michael there.

  • How do you free up more time for patients without hiring more clinical staff? Hospitals across the Nordics and Northern Europe are finding the answer in digitalising daily operations: automatically moving housekeeping, logistics and transactional work away from clinical staff lifts the entire hospital from the ground up. Our Director Mikkel Harbo explains how in the video below 👇 We're at Digital Health Rewired tomorrow and Wednesday. Stop by our stand C25 and meet Mikkel Harbo, Shaun Chard, Vicky Morley, and Andy Grantham and see what's possible for your hospital." #Rewired26 #HospitalOperations #IoT #Systematic

The Danish election is in its final sprint – and today we opened our doors to a debate about topics shaping our industry. Together with DI - Dansk Industri, we invited candidates from Denmark's largest parties to discuss AI, data sovereignty, and digitalisation in the context of healthcare and defence. We host these kinds of debates around every election. Because we believe that open democratic debate matters. Thank you to Nicolai Wammen, Caroline Stage Olsen, Kirsten Normann Andersen, and Mathilde Hjort Bressum for showing up and engaging!

  • Digital transformation looks different depending on your role. OffDig in Aarhus brings together people across functions and locations to explore exactly that. Our focus? National security and critical infrastructure. Two areas where the stakes are high and where having a unified picture that works across functions, systems and organisations is essential. As Anders Goul Nielsen, Group Senior Vice President says: "Protecting critical infrastructure is not just a technical challenge, it is a societal responsibility. It is about ensuring cohesion between systems, so that energy companies, police, emergency services and authorities can share information and collaborate effectively when facing threats or attacks." Find us at booth 7, we hope to see you. #OffDig #Systematic #NationalSecurity #CriticalInfrastructure
