In collaboration with seven fantastic local businesses, each child visited every company to craft a unique part of the spiral — a true community effort! 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 – 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Last week Ruben Jumelet, our Purchase Team colleague, took to the stage at the Webwinkel Vakdagen to share how we've been optimising our purchasing and warehouse processes here at YourSurprise. He was invited by Slimstock, the creators of Slim4, the software we use to manage our purchasing. During his talk, Ruben explained how we apply Slim4 in our daily operations, the challenges it has helped us overcome, and how it continues to support our growth. He also offered a glimpse into what’s next: using Slim4 to manage pre-prep orders—demonstrating that the software is capable of much more than just stock ordering. That's why we’re always eager to engage with customers, suppliers, and partners to explore how we can make a difference together and bring the ideal customer journey one step closer. Last week, we took a trip to The Hague with a multifunctional team consisting of Operations, Customer Service, Business Intelligence, and Logistics. We were warmly welcomed by both PostNL and Spring GDS Nederland. Our first stop was the IMEC facility of PostNL, where international mail and parcels are sorted. Every year, tens of thousands of gifts get their first scan on the way to birthdays, weddings, or under the Christmas tree. It was amazing to see how a process that’s been around for over 200 years has evolved and innovated, and how the decisions we make as webshops and consumers impact such a complex logistics chain. Next, we visited the international hub of Spring GDS Netherlands, where global parcels are routed to various local delivery partners across countries worldwide. The vast range of options available in every country highlights the diverse preferences of consumers, even within Europe, and how carriers adapt to these needs. It’s impressive how Spring bridges the gap between local consumer demands and webshops all across Europe. We were grateful for the ample opportunity to discuss all the questions that arose during our visits, both during the tours and afterwards, to delve deeper into the pursuit of the ideal customer journey. To make sure everyone could fully focus on dreaming big, we even closed the company for the afternoon. That’s how much we believe in the power of our people and their ideas! We kicked things off with an inspiring presentation, followed by dynamic brainstorming sessions where we shared our biggest dreams and ambitions for the company. We know that innovation starts with dreaming big; what better way to do that than with our whole team? Of course, in true YourSurprise style, we didn’t just stop at brainstorming. We wrapped up the day with an epic après-ski party – complete with a DJ, great music, and plenty of celebrations.
