#DesignForImpact with Zeefier 🌿 Did you know seaweed is a fantastic tool to clean polluted water? Three years ago, through the Secrid Impact Fund, we supported Nienke Hoogvliet and Anne Boermans, founders of Zeefier. They are pioneering the use of seaweed to create high-quality textile dyes. Their natural dyes are used to colour clothing, carpets, bedding, and more. We talked to Nienke and Anne about their inspirational journey. Every industry faces its own set of challenges, and fashion perhaps more than most. Industries cannot be stopped, but they can be changed. At Secrid, we believe designers and industry leaders are pivotal in driving that transition. That’s why we have already supported over 30 talented designers who are redefining different industries with their innovations. This is an active community that we continue to cultivate. Designers remain in dialogue, exchanging insights, and forming new collaborations to grow our movement. Zeefier was part of the very first #SecridTalentPodium at Dutch Design Week 2022. Since our collaboration began, they have grown steadily and gained recognition, while staying true to their values. After a learning journey at BlueCity (010), the team of female entrepreneurs is now ready to scale up to industrial levels. They have already teamed up with industry leaders and peers such as Royal Auping and The Knitwit Stable.
