Predictive maintenance system for AC motors and rotating equipment.

Over ons

In 2015, we launched a mission to eliminate unplanned downtime and industrial energy waste. Since then we’ve evolved our predictive maintenance system, SAM4, into a robust and high-accuracy failure detection technology. Today we are active across five continents, helping our customers reduce risk, lower costs, save energy and put an end to unplanned downtime. ABOUT SAM4 SAM4 uses AI to analyze current and voltage signals, which provides a great complement to condition monitoring technologies based on other types of data. First, SAM4’s sensors install inside the motor control cabinet, not on the machine itself, which expands the range of equipment you can successfully monitor to include (for example) submersible pumps and machines subjected to extreme temperatures. Second, the use of electrical data means electrical faults are caught earlier, which expands the types of failure you can successfully prevent. Third, SAM4 also uses the data it’s collecting to provide operational insights, such as a real-time pump performance curve (thanks to the affinity laws) and an energy monitor. If SAM4 sounds like it could be a useful tool in your asset health monitoring strategy, please pay us a visit at www.samotics.com or drop us a line here on LinkedIn.

  • Inefficient pump operations shorten asset lifespan, increase maintenance workload, and drive up costs. With aging infrastructure and a shrinking workforce, water utilities must maximize resources and ensure pumps operate at their Best Efficiency Point (BEP). Electrical Signature Analysis (ESA) helps water utilities: ✅ Optimize pump performance to extend lifespan ✅ Reduce unnecessary CAPEX on premature replacements ✅ Free up maintenance teams to focus on critical issues By running pumps more efficiently, water utilities can reduce strain on both equipment and personnel, improving reliability and cost-effectiveness across their network. 🎥 Bruno Augusto

  • How your pump actually performs doesn't always match the spec sheet. Now, SAM4 takes your pump insights even further. OEM pump curves are helpful, but real-world performance often tells a different story. These pump curves are based on lab conditions: ideal scenarios that rarely match the wear, tear, and system changes pumps face in real life. That gap leads to energy waste, poor decisions, and missed opportunities. That’s why we’ve introduced calibrated pump curves to SAM4. You can now: - See actual pump head and flow based on telemetry - Toggle between OEM and calibrated curves in the dashboard - Get a sharper calculation of your Best Efficiency Point (BEP) With calibrated curves, it’s easier to: - Spot pumps operating off-curve and wasting energy - Validate pump performance against real-world conditions - Build stronger cases for replacement or optimization By showing which pumps are wasting the most energy, SAM4 helps operations teams prioritize the pumps that cost the most to run. Instead of guessing or replacing equipment unnecessarily, they can target the biggest savings - reducing electricity bills, avoiding unneeded maintenance, and preventing early failures. Calibrated pump curves are live today for supported pumps, and already improving energy insights at major water utilities. Want to see it for yourself? • 💧 What are the three core pillars of the water utility industry? Simon talks about the three core pillars of water utility: 1️⃣ Pumps & pipes (the physical layer) 2️⃣ Control systems (the digital layer) 3️⃣ People (the operations & maintenance teams) While innovation is booming in the control layer, the physical layer often gets left behind. At Samotics, we bring smart monitoring to pumps, turning traditional assets into intelligent ones by installing our system in the motor cabinet. No invasive sensors are needed. #WaterUtilities #ConditionMonitoring #SmartMaintenance

  • 🎯 Laying the foundation for success starts with choosing the right assets to monitor. In our latest video, we explore how this early decision can greatly influence long-term results. We focus on two key traits of ideal assets: Criticality: Assets where failure leads to serious impact like downtime or environmental risks. Frequent Operation: Regularly running assets help gather enough data to generate meaningful insights. We also share real-world examples of assets well-suited for monitoring, including sewage pumping stations and Archimedes screw pumps. 📽️ Melina Bousiou #customeronboarding #sam4 #predictivemaintenance

How do you save £7.5 million as a water utility?💦 This week at Samotics, we're celebrating a huge milestone together with Yorkshire Water. This collaboration has been more than a standard partnership, our teams integrated their workflows in pursuit of operational excellence. Together, we began tracking the benefits of SAM4, and today, we couldn't be prouder to celebrate a major achievement: saving £7.5 million. Saving £7.5 million over two years is already a major accomplishment, but what makes it even more remarkable is that part of this success came from preventing 31 pollution events. But hey, great results come from great people. And all of this wouldn't have been possible without Shaun Imeson, Gavin Millward, Richard Cousins, Simon Herrington, Simon Rhodes, Richard Woodhead, Mark Oliver, Michael Newton, Martin Rowe, George Cowell and the installers CHG group, Cema LTD and Clayton Project. And we're not done yet. We're on a mission to give every maintenance operator, engineer, and team lead the visibility they need into the condition of their critical equipment, to make their work easier, prevent pollution events, and avoid the failure of critical equipment. A big shoutout also to our team Mike, Melina, Charlotte, Tamara, Jane , Dan, Dirk-Jan, Carlos, Gosia, Simone and Bram. This is just one milestone on a much bigger journey.

  • A few years ago, this idea felt impossible. Yesterday, we announced the launch. Together with ABB, we announced the first integration of Electrical Signature Analysis directly inside the drive. No extra sensors. No add-on hardware. Just powerful, built-in insights into the full powertrain. We showed how this works live on the exhibition floor. We shared the story on the keynote stage. And we opened the doors for early adopters to test it in the field. The response? Clear. Curious. Energized. Because this simplifies condition monitoring in a way that finally makes it scalable. For everyone who came by the stand or joined our keynote - thank you! This is just the start. We’re already seeing strong interest in the early adopters program, with steady momentum from teams eager to pilot the solution. Want to be among the first to try the drive-integrated solution in the field? Join the early adopters program. Find the link to the announcement and sign-up in the comments.

  • For many water utilities, blockages go undetected until it’s too late. By the time a wet well overflows or a storm overflow activates, the damage is already done. Electrical Signature Analysis (ESA) changes this. By identifying early signs of blockages, such as rags or wet wipes caught in a pump, ESA sends real-time alerts before failures occur. This allows utilities to: ✅ Detect issues before they escalate into overflows ✅ Dispatch crews at the right time and place ✅ Prevent pollution events and costly emergency responses Proactive monitoring helps utilities respond early, reducing downtime, avoiding environmental impact, and keeping operations running smoothly.

  • We’re excited to share a major step forward in condition monitoring, live from Maintenance NEXT in Rotterdam today. Together with ABB, we’re announcing the integration of Samotics’ Electrical Signature Analysis (ESA) capabilities directly into ABB’s ACS880 variable frequency drives. What does that actually mean? You can now monitor critical equipment remotely without extra sensors, new wiring, or downtime. The drive itself becomes the sensor, delivering real-time insights into the full powertrain. Motor, pump, gearbox and more, all monitored from inside the drive. Simple to deploy. Scalable by design. Same powerful ESA insights, now built in. Here's two things you can do now: 1. Join us at Maintenance NEXT (Ahoy, Rotterdam) and catch our keynote from 15:30 to 16:15, where Samotics CEO Jasper Hoogeweegen and ABB’s VP Global Digital Services Sachin Mathur will share how this reshapes condition monitoring. 2. Sign up for our limited early adopters list to be among the first to use the new integrated solution in the field. Find the official announcement with the early adopters signup form linked in the comments.
