Reflecting the importance of technology developments in the Positioning, Navigation and Timing, we are pleased to announce that an Addendum to the Element 1 Work Plan 2026 has been approved at the ESA Programme Board - Navigation meeting in May. The Budapest University of Technology and Economics and the Hungarian Ministry for National Economics, with the support of the European Space Agency - ESA, are hosting the PNT Resilience Workshop, bringing together key stakeholders across the European PNT ecosystem in Budapest, Hungary. The second International eLoran Standardisation and Implementation Conference took place last week at ESTEC, the European Space Agency - ESA's technical heart in the Netherlands. The workshop was co-chaired by representatives from the UK, France and the Republic of Korea.  Enhanced long range navigation (eLoran) is a terrestrial positioning system that offers resilient, low frequency signals that can be used for high-accuracy timing and positioning across safety critical sectors. It has potential as a complement or back-up for global navigation satellite systems (GNSS).  eLoran capabilities are being developed by various nations, and international coordination and cooperation is key to expanding the network and increasing the robustness and reliability of positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) for everyone.  ESA NAVISP is currently supporting UK eLoran antenna and receiver development and timing activities and is keen to support further developments across Europe. 🚀 Exciting Kick-Off for Our New European Space Agency - ESA Project! On March 4, John Deere officially started our new ESA NAVISP project:  🛰️ Highly Precise and Reliable GNSS Navigation with PNT from LEO Signals Augmentation. Our goal is to advance positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) by combining Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite signals with existing GNSS technologies. This innovation will help deliver more accurate and more reliable navigation performance — especially for high‑precision applications like precision agriculture, automation, and other professional GNSS use cases.
