Most financial institutions treat Bacs as a connectivity-first problem. It's not. It's an operational design problem. Bacs processes nearly 7 billion payments a year in the UK. It's the backbone of recurring collections: salaries, loan repayments, subscriptions, pensions. And yet, for many institutions, operating it still means uploading files to a bank portal, waiting for status updates, and manually reconciling outcomes across siloed systems. Our latest guide walks through the four main Bacs access models and explains what modern, API-first Bacs access looks like when it's built into a broader payments stack (not bolted on as an afterthought). If you're evaluating your UK payments setup or thinking about how to scale without increasing fragmentation, this article is for you. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dSfx-Txp

Most core banking transformations get buried under legacy bureaucracy long before they ever deliver commercial value. Yet Bank Muamalat launched its new digital platform, ATLAS, in just nine months, proving that digital acceleration is won through operational discipline. By deploying a cloud-native speedboat adjacent to the parent bank and establishing strict governance boundaries to protect it, they successfully bypassed legacy gravity to unlock immediate commercial scale within six months: - Digital onboarding rate equivalent to 70 physical branches - 61% of onboarded users are entirely new to the bank's ecosystem - 96% of deposits in the first three months post-launch came from fresh funds Incremental modernisation, backed by the right operational safeguards, consistently outperforms multi-year transformation marathons. What happens when a credit union gets the technology foundation to match its ambition? Real transformation that keeps members at the heart of every decision. Cape Breton Credit Union (CBCU) has successfully modernised its core banking platform as a part of a wider transformation led by League Data. Alongside 36 other credit unions, CBCU transitioned to Mambu’s cloud-native, API-first core, creating a more flexible foundation to support future growth and innovation. A few standout milestones from the transformation: - A highly coordinated core banking migration completed in just 48 hours - CBCU is now operating on a 100% cloud-native core banking foundation - It's a part of a 37-credit-union modernisation programme across Atlantic Canada Together with League Data, we are redefining how Canadian credit unions modernise. Congratulations to Shawn Moore, Jeff Aucoin and the entire team at CBCU and League Data for setting a new benchmark for the industry. Read the full customer story here: https://lnkd.in/dvQpVM2F

In the world of payments, time used to be a safety net. If something broke, you had hours to fix it before it really mattered. Processing happened in batches, and execution and settlement were separated by hours, sometimes days. This gap was a load-bearing buffer that allowed for downstream fraud screening and manual reconciliation. But as Jasper van den Bergen explains in his recent article, real-time rails like SCT Inst have changed the physics of payments. The time buffer is gone. Today, every validation, fraud, and compliance check must happen in seconds, before funds move. It’s a shift from delayed processing to instant, always-on decisioning where systems must be available 24/7/365, even at 3am on Christmas morning. If you are curious how this architectural pressure is transforming the industry, you can read Jasper’s full deep dive here: https://lnkd.in/dDgMQtUm

This week we had the pleasure of welcoming the team from OSB Group to our Amsterdam HQ 🇳🇱 OSB is a UK specialist mortgage lender on a bold transformation journey. They chose Mambu to break free from legacy systems and build with real agility. What started with savings products has now successfully expanded into mortgages, a huge milestone in their journey. The day felt even more meaningful as the OSB team took a moment to recognise and thank everyone across Mambu who has helped make the journey possible so far. In an industry focused heavily on platforms, delivery, and transformation, it’s easy to forget that strong partnerships are ultimately built by people. The best outcomes happen when teams challenge each other, collaborate openly, and stay aligned through both the exciting moments and the difficult ones. Thank you Chris Healing, Samina Khan, Mark Stone, and Eve Moore for the trust, partnership, and openness throughout this journey so far. We are looking forward to continue building together.

Your AI agents are only as powerful as the systems they can actually access. Financial institutions are investing heavily in AI-driven workflows, but when it comes to connecting AI to core banking systems, things often get complicated fast: custom integrations, months of development, and middleware that’s difficult to maintain. That’s what we’re changing. With the Mambu MCP solution, AI agents get native, structured access to Mambu core banking data through the open-source Model Context Protocol (MCP). Any AI platform. Two tools. 300+ API operations. No custom middleware. No vendor lock-in. Read the blog to see the demos in action: https://lnkd.in/eiD5Rpvk

When Timo Digital Bank by BVBank decided to modernise their core, they were looking for a way to grow without the typical complexities and delays of a core replacement. They needed a platform that allowed them to innovate at speed while handling massive volume in a high-growth market. They found the answer in Mambu. The secret was a composable, cloud-native approach that removed technical debt from the equation. The results speak for themselves: - 2 months to complete the core migration - 6 months to go live - 5x growth in their customer base since the switch Today, they process tens of millions of monthly transactions and billions of API requests with ease, while continuing to meet the expectations of Vietnam’s young, digital-first customers. This is a perfect example of what happens when the infrastructure matches the vision. By working with Mambu and AWS Partners, CEO Jonas Eichhorst and his team have built a foundation that is ready for whatever the next ten years bring. See the full story here: https://lnkd.in/d7WMRngC

Imagine launching a digital lender in just 10 months with 15-minute lending decisions. That’s not wishful thinking. It's exactly what financial institutions are already achieving through Mambu's core transformation. But core transformation can mean very different things depending on your business goals, risk appetite, and timeline. For some, it’s about launching a speedboat brand to test new markets. For others, it’s building a dual-core strategy that lets legacy and a new core run side by side. There’s no one-size-fits-all path. To help you navigate this, we created "The Composable Core Playbook." It's a practical guide to five proven core transformation models used by financial institutions to modernise with confidence. If you’re going to talk about core transformation, you may as well do it in a stadium built for big moments ⚽️ At Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium, home of Atlético de Madrid, Rui Cardoso (Mambu) and Manuel Valero Martinez (Ibercaja) shared how Ibercaja built a new digital lending business from scratch with Mambu. The conversation covered faster execution, scalable growth, and building a modern core for the future. A fitting topic for a venue that knows a thing or two about ambition and reinvention. Thanks to iKN Spain for bringing the industry together at Revolution Banking: El mayor evento de banca en España.
