Paper accepted - ASME Turbo Expo 2025, Memphis, USA!   WHEN USING HYDROGEN as a fuel, engineers might require design changes in gas turbines traditionally fired with fossil fuel. This is due to changes in combustion products and heat transfer.    In this scenario the accurate knowledge of temperature is crucial as hot spots and sharp gradients can trigger various failure mechanisms limiting the life time of the parts. This affects costs!   This paper titled ‘Utilising Thermal History Coatings for the Assessment of Hydrogen Fuel on Combustor Temperatures’ (GT2025-152181), demonstrates the use of Thermal History Coatings to deliver more than 20,000 measurement points (!) and permits a detailed insight into the effectiveness of impingement cooling. 🎉 Swiss drone 🎉 Last Friday, in sunny Ticino, Swiss Aerospace Cluster organized a visit to the Swiss Drone Competence Center located in Lodrino on the former military airfield of Riviera Airport. Following a pitch sessions that saw one of our based companies Destinus present its latest development, we had the chance to witness some drone testing outside. It was a great opportunity to understand how the team operates drone flights in the vicinity of the aerodrome.
