  • In honor of AAPI Heritage Month, Staff Machine Learning Engineer Ling Yu shares how her cultural background shapes her approach to data, leadership, and building technology that genuinely helps people. What does AAPI Heritage Month mean to you, especially as a woman in tech? AAPI Heritage Month is a meaningful opportunity to celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, including those who have shaped the technology industry. For me personally, it's a time to reflect on the journey of those who came before us and paved the way, often quietly and without recognition. As a woman in tech, it's also a reminder that representation matters. When we see ourselves reflected in leadership and innovation, it expands what we believe is possible for ourselves and for the next generation.  Have your cultural background or personal experiences influenced your journey in machine learning or engineering? If so, how? I was taught early on to stay grounded, be pragmatic, and trust evidence over assumption. I believe that good data holds the answers we're looking for, and that it's our job as engineers and data scientists to ask the right questions of it. That discipline and humility in the face of complexity is something I carry with me every day in my work. Is there a tradition, value, or aspect of your culture that has had a lasting impact on how you approach your work or leadership style? Growing up, I absorbed a deep respect for hard work and thoroughness, the idea that anything worth doing is worth doing with care and precision. That shows up in my work as an attention to detail that I apply to everything from model design to code reviews. I believe that clear communication is as important as the technical work itself. And perhaps most importantly, I was raised in a culture that prizes relationships and community, which is why I invest in my teammates, prioritize trust, and believe that how you build alongside people matters just as much as what you build. Why should other engineers consider joining EarnIn? There has never been a more exciting time to be an engineer at EarnIn. EarnIn recently surpassed one million Live Pay transactions since the feature launched in July 2025, marking a milestone in the evolution of pay from a static, scheduled event into a real-time system that operates continuously alongside work itself. We are quite literally changing the relationship between Americans and their income, and engineers here get to build the technology that makes that possible.  Interested in solving problems that matter for millions of working Americans? #HappyMothersDay 🌷 As a Fraud & Disputes Investigator on the ERM team, Lindsey Morales approaches every case with discernment and care. She spoke with us about the work she does to protect EarnIn's customers and the personal "why" that drives her every day outside of work. Can you describe your role at EarnIn and what a typical day looks like for you? I'm a Fraud & Disputes Investigator on the ERM team. My day-to-day involves reviewing claims, analyzing account activity, and making decisions that help protect both our customers and the company. It's very detail-oriented work that requires strong judgment and critical thinking, especially since every case is different. I spend a lot of time piecing together information and making fair, well-supported decisions, while also staying mindful of the real people behind the situations. It's a role that constantly challenges me, helps me grow, and allows me to make an impact in a meaningful way! What has made it possible for you to show up both as a parent and in your role at EarnIn? The supportive environment and flexibility at EarnIn have made a huge difference for me. There's a real understanding that being a parent comes with unpredictable moments, and I've always felt supported by my manager and teammates when those things come up.  My husband has been a huge part of making this work. We've really learned how to support each other as a team through this. He takes so much off my plate, and it's helped me feel less overwhelmed, especially balancing everything that comes with being a working mom. How has the Family First Employee Resource Group supported you in your journey as a parent at EarnIn? Even though I may not personally know everyone in the group, there’s such a strong sense of community. Being able to share photos of Eazy and have other parents react and cheer him on means more than people probably realize. It’s a reminder that I’m not alone in this, and that there are other working parents navigating this same journey. What has been the most rewarding part of becoming a mother so far? The LOVE. It’s something I don’t think I fully understood until I experienced it. Watching Eazy grow and become his own little person, seeing his personality start to shine through, and the little things he learns every day - it’s such a special and grounding feeling. Being able to witness that and be part of his journey means everything to me. Even on the busiest or hardest days, he reminds me to pause and be grateful. I'm living a life I once prayed for, and that perspective helps me stay focused on what truly matters. He's my biggest motivation and my “why” in everything I do! We're always looking for passionate, purpose-driven people to join our team. Check out our open roles at the link below.

  • EarnIn customers like Natalie are what make this community so incredible 💛 Thank you for sharing your story with us this week!

It's Friday, and continuing with the sharing about all the many moving parts of my life, my highlight today is this thought 💭 Imagine if every phone call had a two-week response time. Every text. Every email. You'd call it broken and you'd be right. Yet we've accepted that standard for the one thing that keeps our lives running: our paycheck. We are living in an instant world.: food rides, messages, music all on demand. Your pay should be no different. And here's what most people don't realize: it's already yours. You earned it. You just can't touch it yet. That's the problem EarnIn solved and why I'm proud to be an MVP partner featured in their upcoming campaign #CAMPAIGNLOADING. I discovered EarnIn back in 2017, long before the fintech wave made "earned wage access" a buzzword. And this week I had the privilege of sitting down with Founder & CEO Ram Palaniappan (who started this back in 2013) to hear the full origin story firsthand. What he has built is genuinely different (I am so excited about his mind and way of thinking). I also participated in a panel and had discussions at EarnIn with several key departments focused on Social Media/Branding, Engineering & Technology, Product Development, Product Management, User Growth, and Marketing & Growth. Im so excited to start using LivePay!!! seeing your pay accrue in #RealTime is quite wild!!!! Huge shout-out to Angelica Torres!!! The most fantastic Tech Friend, ever!!!! At Heart Relationship Management LLC, everything we do is about removing friction from human connection. Earnin does the same; it removes the friction between the work you've done and the money that's yours. You shouldn't have to pay to access your own pay. 💬 Drop a comment if you have ever been caught waiting on payday at the worst possible time? Let me be the first to comment.... read my comment #EarnIn #EarnedWageAccess #FinancialWellness #HeartRM #FintechForGood #MVPPartner #WorkingAmericans #MoneyMindset #Leadership #FutureOfPay

Over 1,000,000 Live Pay transactions. That's proof that people are done waiting two weeks to access money they've already earned. • Jeen R. gives us a glimpse into the traditional Thai New Year, and the joy, reflection, and fresh beginnings it brings each year. She shares why she joined EarnIn, from the opportunity to do meaningful work in fintech to collaborating with an international team. Why did you decide to join EarnIn?   I joined EarnIn because I was excited about the opportunity to do meaningful work in fintech, creating real impact for people who truly need it. I wanted to be part of a company that helps improve people’s lives and protects them from predatory loans. I was also drawn to the chance to work with an international team, learn from different cultures, and be part of a diverse environment. Collaborating with people who bring different perspectives and experiences makes it a very eye-opening and enriching experience. For those who may not be familiar, can you share what the Songkran Festival means to you and why it’s such a special time in Thailand? Songkran is the traditional Thai New Year, before Thailand adopted January 1st as the official New Year. It’s a long holiday when people reunite with their families, spend quality time together, and pay respect to elders. It’s widely known for the joyful water celebrations you’ll see almost everywhere. For us, Songkran represents a fresh start - a time for renewal, reflection, and new beginnings.  For me, I celebrate Songkran by being with my family and cherish the moments. Looking  ahead to next year and taking some time to recharge myself during these long holidays. So do our team in Bangkok, we spend time with our families and friends. Either staying indoors or enjoying water fights outdoors in the city. EarnIn’s team continues to evolve. Explore open roles on our Careers page.

  • Paulina Hernández Jiménez is dedicated to fostering a culture of safety, support, and genuine connection at EarnIn. In honor of International Women’s Day, she shared how she advocates for change both within EarnIn and through her personal traditions in Mexico. What is your favorite thing about working here?   The people. I’m truly impressed by the collaboration and teamwork I’ve experienced at EarnIn. Beyond having a great working relationship with the people I work directly with, I’ve also built meaningful friendships, not only in the People team, but across other departments as well. How do you celebrate International Women’s Day in Mexico?  It has become a tradition for me to take part in the 8M march on March 8th. In Mexico, every year on International Women’s Day, there is a massive march where women are called to walk along Avenida Reforma to demand action from the government and authorities. The women who participate usually create their own posters with powerful messages. Each year, more and more women of all ages join, raising their voices for women across Mexico and for those who are no longer with us. It is an incredibly emotional and powerful experience. This will be my fourth year attending. What does International Women’s Day mean to you, and how do you personally connect with its significance? As a Mexican woman, International Women’s Day is deeply meaningful to me because it represents an opportunity to raise our voices for all Mexican women. Mexico is currently facing a significant wave of violence against women, and I like to believe that having a specific day to bring visibility to this issue and demand action from the government is one small step toward addressing and ultimately eliminating this situation. At the same time, I strongly believe that raising our voices once a year is not enough. If we truly want to see change, the effort must be ongoing. The fight for equality and safety requires daily commitment through both small and large actions. What inspires you most about the women you work with at EarnIn? The invaluable support they give one another. I feel safe and genuinely supported by each of them. They are always willing to help, offer advice, and encourage growth—both personally and professionally. Our culture is built on a daily commitment to support and advocacy. Check out our Careers page. Help shape what’s next at EarnIn.

  • Happy #InternationalWomensDay! As a Sr. Machine Learning Engineer, Nikita Prabhu is driven by the belief that technical depth is most effective when paired with a problem-solving mindset. While she builds at the intersection of tech and finance, Nikita is also a vocal advocate for visibility across the industry. She views International Women’s Day as a vital checkpoint and a time to honor the resilience of women globally while actively dismantling the barriers that still limit their potential. Why did you decide to join EarnIn?   I decided to join EarnIn because the mission genuinely resonated with me. The idea of using technology to give people better access to their own earnings felt both meaningful and impactful. During the interview process, I was especially drawn to the people I spoke with—they were thoughtful, humble, and deeply committed to solving real problems. What does International Women’s Day mean to you, and how do you personally connect with its significance? International Women’s Day, to me, is both a celebration and a reminder. It’s a celebration of the achievements, resilience, and immense potential of women across industries and communities. At the same time, it’s a reminder that many women around the world still face barriers that limit their opportunities. I personally connect with its significance as someone working in tech, where representation and visibility matter deeply. It motivates me to continue growing, supporting other women, and contributing to environments where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. As you integrate EarnIn's values into your work, which one stands out to you as particularly meaningful? The value that stands out to me most is being collaborative. At EarnIn, collaboration isn’t just about working together—it’s about truly respecting diverse perspectives and encouraging open dialogue. I’ve seen firsthand how different viewpoints lead to stronger, more thoughtful solutions. There is a culture of listening and constructive debate, where ideas are challenged respectfully and decisions are made collectively. That sense of shared ownership makes the work both impactful and fulfilling. What is your favorite thing about working here?  My favorite thing about working at EarnIn is the culture and the people. I work with some incredibly brilliant individuals who are not only strong technically but also generous with their knowledge and time. There is a genuine willingness to help each other succeed, which creates a supportive and high-performing environment. It’s rare to find a workplace where people are both exceptionally talented and genuinely kind—and that combination makes coming to work every day rewarding. If you’re looking to grow professionally within a supportive, mission-driven culture, explore our open roles on the Careers page.

  • As a Machine Learning Engineer, Tushar Kadam spends his days experimenting, iterating, and finding innovative ways to solve problems. He spoke with us about his work, what makes Holi feel special, and what a fresh start looks like for him this year. Holi is known for breaking down barriers and bringing people together in celebration. How does that spirit of connection and openness show up in your life or work? I try to bring that spirit of openness into how I collaborate with others. Creating an environment where ideas can be shared freely leads to better solutions. Encouraging constructive debate and diverse perspectives often strengthens outcomes. It also helps build trust within teams. As a Machine Learning Engineer, innovation and experimentation are key. How do you bring creativity and fresh thinking into your work? I approach experimentation with a mindset of curiosity and play. Exploring unconventional approaches often reveals better solutions than the obvious path. Rapid prototyping and testing allow ideas to evolve quickly. Failures are treated as learning signals rather than setbacks. Are there any Holi traditions that hold special meaning for you? Playing with colors and gathering with friends has always been the most meaningful part of Holi for me. Growing up, it was one of the few times when everyone came together without formality or barriers. The laughter, music, and shared meals made the day feel vibrant and memorable. Even now, that sense of reconnection remains special. It’s less about the colors and more about the shared joy. Holi is also rooted in the idea of letting go of the past and embracing new beginnings. Has there been a professional lesson or growth moment this year that reflects that theme for you? One important lesson has been learning to let go of the pursuit of perfect solutions. In fast-moving systems, iteration and learning create more value than waiting for perfection. Embracing incremental progress has improved both speed and outcomes. It has also encouraged more experimentation and adaptability. EarnIn’s mission is about helping people feel more secure and supported. As you celebrate Holi and look ahead to the year, what does prosperity or security mean to you? To me, prosperity means reducing financial stress and giving people the freedom to make better life decisions. Security is the confidence that you have stability and options when uncertainty arises. It’s about empowerment rather than just financial access. When people feel supported, they can focus on growth and opportunity. Contributing to that sense of stability makes the work deeply meaningful. EarnIn's machine learning team is tackling some of the most interesting problems in fintech.
