Rockstar Editor vs Medal on FiveM

GTA 5 on PC has its own Rockstar Editor. You can record clips or save an Action Replay of the last 30 to 90 seconds, then edit them with free cameras and Director Mode. The editor itself only opens from the Story Mode pause menu.

On FiveM, the Rockstar Editor depends on the server. Many servers don’t add the recording script, and opening the editor disconnects you. Medal records your screen, so it works on any server while you stay in character, and servers that add Medal events get auto clips of their own moments.

One FiveM tip: F8 opens the FiveM console. If F8 is your clip hotkey, change it in Medal’s Settings or say “clip that” to clip hands-free.
